Well, because it goes against Lego's regulations. Anyway, that's why you have Brickarms and Brickforge. And every other options to build custom weapons really.

Plastic Granules are stored in the Hopper.
The Drive Unit is engaged, driving the Screw hard and deep into the hot hot Barrel.
The plastic becomes Molton Plastic, a special type of hot plastic I assume.
It then is thrust into the Mould Tool.
Thus making a baby.
