Tiny Tread ideas

Post by Kastrenzo » Sat Jun 27, 2015 1:55 am

I bought a number of these arctic crawlers a while ago, but I didnt realize until unboxing that the treads were smaller than I thought.

Have there been any particularly good MOCs that people have made using these tiny treads? I'd really like to utilize the parts for a combat vehicle, not some weird ice truck thing. so I'm fishing for ideas.

Could perhaps go for something like that, at least the bottom end of it

Well, there are quite a lot of possibilities for small treads, tho I haven't tried out using 4 of them on one single tank, like on the Apocalypse Tank. I could imagine, that it would actually look quite rad, nevertheless.

I like the last one, I don't suppose you can fit a minifig in that?

Putting actual crews in vehicles is a habit I need to get into.

It's deeper than it looks, No pun intended.

Hm, Ok. Between that and the half track I have a starter I guess. Now it's just more of a decision on which faction to make it for since I have like 4 in need of more..

I purchased a couple of those sets with the intention of building heavy infiltrator drones for my growing droid faction.

Yes, yes, I am aware of the "inferior Nega-Bloks" in the pic: but you get the idea...

I plan on using mine to build space military halftracks.

Alternatively you can just purchase compact loader (technic) sets, as they come with 63ish 1x3 treads and twelve gears each, not to mention other goodies. That's what I used to create my new medium tank.

I don't like small treads much, but they can fit in some pretty compact places.

I've used these but inverted; so you have completely nonfunctional but utterly awesome spiked treads, like so:

For tankettes on these tracks it really helps if you make the front wheel slightly higher than the other two, so long as you watcht the weight distribution.

Edited to shit because I don't wanna spoil new builds.
