Arctic Ice Crawler Halftrack Conversion.

I picked up a few of these Ice Crawlers a few months ago, I thought I could make some more tanks with the treads, only to find out the treads were smaller than anticipated and wouldn't fit into my plans.

After months of just sitting on the shelf, I've claimed another victory in the never ending war of tearing down and converting stock sets into something unique. It's not exactly flashy, But it will do until I can think of something better to make with them.

Converted the crawler into an armoured half-track that un-comfortably seats 6

They're nothing special. but it's typically what happens to a lot of the sets I buy. I put them together using instructions, they sit on the shelf for a year, then I tear them apart when I have an idea for their parts, or more commonly, an idea to convert it into a battle vehicle.

Ohhh, these are actually on clearance at the local Walmart...
Are they a good buy at $11 a pop?

I've actually been returned for a while now...

Also, having looked the part up on Bricklink, it seems it's they're the same treads I got with Emmet's Construto-mech, so I don't see how you couldn't use them for Tankettes...

I like 'em. I think it'd be cool to use them as a "town militia" sort of faction, but that's just me.

I agree, I think my favorite part about the tankettes is that they are probably staffed by regular people who work in them.

You know after buying this set myself, I've found it's a pretty good either way.
Stock-wise you get a nice little utility crawler, parts-wise it has a ridiculous number of SNOT elements, and the base model is pretty open to modification.

I bought two of these so I can build tracked drones similar to the MB COD models.
