M-16 and AK-47 some posts further

Post by pesgores » Fri Dec 19, 2008 2:03 pm

This is the better minifig-scale replica of the automatic weapon M-16. Of course, I made it.

I made them in real life first, then remade them on LDD to check if they can be bought. Nah. The front of the weapon exists, but does not upload to the LEGO® factory site. too bad. I only have pieces to make 4 of them.
Image

My original idea was to make a gun almost as good as the Brickarms ones. I think I succeded. Here's a pictue of the real one to compare.
Image

You will notice the barrel of the LEGO® version is shorter. This happens because if I made the barrel longer it would be too big to be minifig scale. But it is good as it is, don't you agree?

Here's a pic of a Paratrooper showing it in the streets of Godovia, at the end of day 4.
Image

My own review is that it almost resembles a Brickarms weapon, which was my objective, and after a quick search on Bricklink, I found out it is much more cheaper than a regular BA gun. Almost as good in quality and shape, and better in price.

C&CC welcome.

That's a pretty good little thingy. The clip is literally a clip though...
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

You do better.

Oh wait, you CAN'T.

I like it. I personally am never going to buy Brickarms. I think they're neat and all, but I'd rather have just Lego.

And good job Pesgores.

EDIT: I spelled it "Pesogres" first. Add another one to the list.

Well, the front could be better. They don't have any better pieces though, do they... You could turn it upside down.

Megabloks has one of these guns. It looks accurate, but it is near impossible to have a minifig hold it.

The Pesogres are a failed experiment by the PEZ company to make a PEZ dispenser inside of a living being. Unfortunately, they only produced PES, which tastes much, much worse.

I really like this. To me, it doesn't look anything like an M-16, but it definitely fits in as a professional-looking sci-fi style assault rifle. I've made a couple similar ones.

The original one was the objective. if it doesn't, oh well, it still looks good to me, even not being an M-16.

I got to buy Brickarms, I'm a gun nut. And they look so real, it's too hard form me not to use them.

The weapon was designed as an alternative for Brickarms, really.

For a good M16, please look at my Death War thread. 4 of the Czech Commandos who started by the river were carrying rather good-looking assault rifles which were based off the wild west rifles, but had dark grey technic connector pins on them to widen their stocks, and dark grey hands to represent magazines.

A guy at FBTB gave a few suggestions and an AK-47 was born:

I like it. I would take the clip that's dangling off the bottom out of there, though. It looks like it was put there accidentally, hahaha.
