My into and idea about a lego army

Hello, I'm new here and would like to introduce myself and discuss a project I have in mind. I'd like to build two opposing forces for the French and Indian War using lego minifigures. I'd need something like 250 minifigures. I noticed the legs torso's and heads can be bought individually from the Lego company's website although there area few peices that arn't listed but would be nessasary for me to complete my project.

British line infantry (around 40 minifigs)
Black legs, Red torso, head, black tri corner hat, black rifle, custom sticker for torso

British Grenadiers (around 20minifigs)
Black Leg, Red torso, head, black napoleonic tall hat, black rifle, custom sticker for torso

Rangers (around 20minifigs)
Dark Green legs, tan legs, Green torso, head, green bandanna (or custom make the hat they wore), black rifle, custom sticker for torso

two cannons with 5 minifigs crew each

Various British and French officers
same as above with the addition of epaulets and a black sword and pistol instead of rifles

French line infantry (around 40-60minifigs)
White legs, white torso, head, black tri corner hat, black rifle, sticker

French Marines (around 20minifigs)
White legs, light tan legs, white torso, Lt. brown torso, head, blue or brown bandanna, black rifles, sticker

two cannons with 5 mini fig crew each

20-40 generic Indian allies (can be used for both sides) (20-50 figures with rifles and hatches)
I don't really want to use the plains Indians from the western sets lego released in the past, The 500 Nation idians look so different if I can't figure out how to incorperate the indians I'll stick with the uniformed european troops

so I can get the legs, torsos, heads from Lego directly, I see Lego is releasing a Cannon soon so I can pick that up what I need is around

100 black tri corner hats
20 Black napoleonic hats
20 Green bandannas
20 blue bandanna
20 brown bandannas
230 black rifles
and a bunch of custom stickers

any way I'm just thinking out loud, I might never complete this project but I thought I'd share it with you to get any suggestion you may have about obtaining the above items or perhaps your input.

I'm not new to war gaming or Lego's but have never combined the two before. and I haven't played with Lego's since I was a kid. would the above forces be too big for Brikwars? am I crazy for thinking of doing this?

I don't have any of them yet. I did pick up some of the Star Wars mini fig sets. and they got me reminiscing about my youth. Lego's have been off my radar for a long time and I'm kind of amazed at all these custom mini figs and a semi official war game for them.

Well well well, a new member! Welcome.

Sounds like an ambitious project. Bricklink can supply most of that stuff. For the stickers, you probably will have to design and make them yourself.

Thank You IVhorseman, and AmmoMan.

Bricklink looks like it would solve my problem of getting hats and weapons. I'm not familiar with them looking through the listings it looks like many differant people selling siliar items. I imagin shipping would be a problem well I'm off check out their website. hopefully they have a FAQ section.

I've had a "project" like that before, but instead of only 2 armies, 20+ built on a huge surface, with countless cities, forming almost as much nations as Europe has, with governments and starting from the Stone Age and evolving in History, without forgetting to write down everything, every war, every politician, everything, like a new world.

Yes, I WILL do that IF I become rich. I'll just buy a huge field, build a huge warehouse, fill it with tables, build all the landscape, then toss in some small tribes of minifigs and voilá.

A rope system will hold me while I play with it, from the ceiling, so I don't have to step on the land, accidentaly destroying a huge skyscraper or stomping a minifig.

Hell yeah.

Now I'll think about it before I go to sleep. Oh, yeah.

Honestly, I wouldn't touch TLC for getting these. Brand-spanking new minifigs cost a pretty penny.

The same 300+ endeavor would cost you way way less off of brickshelf.

plus in brickshelf youll probably be able to get proper rifles and i know they have british hats and uniforms

remeber the difference between this

(field cannon (want))

and this

(naval cannon (don't want))

That's a big no-no. Just as it says on the title page of the rule book,
Rayhawk wrote:BrikWars is NOT endorsed or acknowledged by the LEGO® Group of companies
Brikwars is not affiliated with LEGO in anyway possible, and claiming so is absolutely ficticious balogna. If you really feel it necessary that you give it a title, you could label Brikwars the "Unofficial Construction Brick Wargame" or something nonspecific along those lines.

Lego is generally anti-violence, so you shouldn't name a wargame after them.

Also, someone please post pics of the old Imperial Guard guys so that OP knows there are already French and British soldiers available.
