Lego knock-off

What are some of the best Lego knockoffs? aside from mekabloks. I'm looking at making an anti ABS faction, but would still like higher quality briks and figures. I'm not expecting Lego quality, but don't want worse than megablok

If you don't want mekabloks, then go for megabloks.
If you could do something in K'Nex, I would applaud you.
Idea: Mix and match. What's more fearsome than an army that is not just one knock off, but as many as you can add in?
