Looking for advice on SHIPS

Post by Archduke » Sun Oct 20, 2019 8:40 pm

I'm hoping to make some kind of larger ship for Space Austria, what advice do people who have built large ships in the past have?

Especially helpful would be tips about

-Size
-Sourcing Parts
-How To keep Stability
-Amount of material needed
-Problems

Due to the influence of the Space community, only vehicles that are at least 100 studs long qualify as SHIPs. However, from the Brikwars point of view, a vehicle that's 30 inches long is pretty impractical for most battles. I'd advise starting with a vehicle that's around 50 studs or 15 inches. That's enough to give it some character and make it a hero ship while still being fairly reasonable to build.

For building a full SHIP, you want to accumulate a lot of long technic beams to build a stiff keel and skeleton, and then build walls around it. Building the interior before getting too far on the hull is a good idea as well.
I make apocalypses and apocalypse accessories.
