Armoured Core Construction

Post by Natalya » Fri Apr 17, 2009 2:25 am

The other thread went to shit so I'm posting here. BRACE FOR EPIC:

Image

The arms are now attached, but they still lack shoulder armour. This sequence will show you the many parts of the core of the AC.

Image

First you attach the cockpit module.

Image

Then comes the chest armour plates.

Image

Cockpit is now 100%.

Image

Here's the bottom piece.

Image

Adjust the collar and it comes to life!!

Image

Ready for action.

Everybody loves Kung-Fu Fighting!!

Image

The back needs a lot of work. I was able to get all this new stuff done because my parts finally came in. However, it looks like I'll have to order more before I can finish it. :[ I'll probably total at $200 for this mecha. But it's well worth it!! This will be the 2nd most powerful unit for brikwars on these boards, after my Longinus cruiser. Though, one could debate that RoC's ship would be better than this Armoured Core, so maybe it will get 3rd. Either way it still pwns anything else.

Image

Here are the other parts I have completed, but not yet attached. The Karasawa may have to be re-built since it's very hard to pose the mecha holding it. The feet are new, completed today. They're longer than the Mars tank. The other stuff is the lower shins and lower thighs.

Image

Obligatory size comparison. ^^

Image

It doesn't even need guns RoC... It can merely throw your tanks across the map!!

Well I'm done for now. Plz don't spam this thread up. ;o

I hope this isn't, spam, but that is just [email protected]$$! Also, are you planning on using this in a forum battle?

Defenitely a epic story indeed. I feel proud I play Armored Core, but there are some problems I fear you may see.
Most mechs, especially MegaBlok Mechs, suffer top heavy problems. What would be ok tends to be leaning forward to back. Your best bet is to do just like in the game, add stabilizers.

The shoulders are alittle exposed, making me think of a Gear Mech instead of the High Tech Mech I know its going to be.

I would worship you if you actually added the thrusters and Shoulder/Back weapons.

Other than that, its amazing. I just wanted to add some things to help make it so good (insert religion's top dog) would want one.

Statement to Jifel: By the way, Clyde Barrow said that quote. He was a very infamous bank robber/car thief/police murdering/short man. You ever see pictures of him? He was SHORT.
Remember, there are no such thing as Athiests in foxholes. There's also no such things as foxes in foxholes.

It will get the shoulder armour you're expecting so don't worry. And yea, it's gonna get weapons attached to them too.

The reson I am asking is becouse I am in the process of building one of these. I got half a hand and the head done but am trying to figure out if I can make it with out the gears if i can not come up with a new way of building then I will i'll finish building it this summmer when i get more cash

Yes and no. If you're talking about an alternative to the giant technic turntables, there is another method to replace them for the legs, but I do not know about the arms. Umm, you will need other gears though no matter what, or else it won't move. You'll also need a lot of worm screws whether you use the giant technic turntables or not.

Here is the alternative hip design:

It's kind of ghetto, but this is how his legs were done before he used the big turntables. I hope you can see well enough to tell what's going on in there. If not I can look for more pictures.

Dang...... if you want to be really effective, you should throw my tank at the other tanks..... But, my AC will be a bit harder to chuck.... I can't believe your going through 1144 pages of instructions to do build this.... Great job BTW....

You're estimating a total of only $200? Damn, that does seem worth it.
