AC Weaponry

Post by RoC77 » Mon May 04, 2009 11:26 am

Since I'm still waiting for parts to fly in so I can continue building my AC, and my hands can't be idle too long, this is what came out....

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=381815

The G360C Main Battle Rifle....
Standard armament for the 45th AC, it's versatility makes ideal for any situation. It can be armed with "Silver Bullet" depleted uranium, incendiary, & HE 85mm solid propulsion shells. In easy to carry 10 or 5 round magazines.

And if more firepower is needed,

The G460M Heavy Battle Rifle...
Able to snipe at long distances and crush anything that comes close, this is one badass weapon. She carries 10 round of the same 80mm slug the Gladiator battle tank uses, but it from an Enhanced Gauss Cannon increasing its velocity by 50%, increasing its range to twice that of the G360C. Her firepower is also supplemented by a 250mm Grenade Launcher, capable of using HE or EMP rounds, in 3 round magazines.

*Added SMG 5/8/09*

Built an SMG version.... The G360K! It uses a longer 15 round magazine, and is only able to shoot the "Silver Bullet" Depleted Uranium rounds.....

Useful Commentary: Personally, I think its really good, but, you should add a rocket launcher to the set. You CANNOT talk about an Armored Core without at least adding one Rocket Launcher, it is the staple to most any assault core.
Remember, there are no such thing as Athiests in foxholes. There's also no such things as foxes in foxholes.

Fine guns. Especially liked the second gun, but the first one was good too.
Maybe some more longer close combat wpns?

Give me time, I wasn't thinking that big yet. Also, aren't rocket launchers are usally for killing things bigger than you? I don't really want to think about why a AC would need a rocket launcher for......

Mine's got a light missile launcher, but AC's are really all about the huge 15-round grenade launchers on the back.

If you mean the wight, I already know..... The G460M will require BOTH hands to wield. It's a big mother, it's not as long as your Karasawa, but it's 1/3 thicker. The joints can barely handle the load so far, don't know how the shoulders will fair. I designed the G360C after, to be lighter. It's fairly hollow inside, 2/3 the width, and the magazine is half the thickness. It can wield the rifle with one hand easy....

ide say leave the weapons till arms and body are complete that way you can weight test it at each stage of building.

The gun design is excellent.

Negatory RoC, I play alotta Armored Core, and just so ya know, they make very excellent weapons versus enemy tanks. missiles may not kill, or it may take alot of them, but one hit from a rocket will destory the tank, the crew, and any minfigs in the immediate area.

A grenade launcher would also be awesome, but I figured the LEGO Mech would be more prone to reality than a graphic design on an xbox screen.

If I built one, I'd give it two shoulder chainguns, two rocket launchers, and if all else fails, a retractable plasma cutter. (No NOT a giant orange transparent chainsaw, I was thinking more or less green)

I've played AC too, since back on the PS1. Ahh, you mean a scaled down version to mount on to hard points. I was thinking a shoulder carried ICBM sized launcher. Don't worry people I've got some gear in mind for that, I have to build the core first and see how much room I'll have. I'm just building the handheld weapons right now.

Your right, sorry for not pointing it out. It's a great design, fits really well and is stronger than a stack of 1x2 bricks. I used it earlier too on the chainblade. I've actually ordered a different piece to replace it, but I'm going to keep it on the blade to give it a skeletal handle profile.....
