An item seeking problem.

Post by DaCoda » Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:03 pm

Is there a place where I can discuss non Lego brand items I'm looking for? I can't find one. There is BrickLink for Lego brand pieces, but I need base plates. Big Ones. I don't even care if they are lego. Ic an only find ones in the under twenty bump range. I want road tiles preferable, but if they are only available at the BrickLink price I'd settle for anything with bumps Lego or not. So Long as it's big flat and bumpy.

Also it would be cool to have a search for knock offs like MegaBlock, seeing as how I use a lot of them.

I didn't realize that the brand of my bricks affected the soundness of my BrikWars strategy, or the odds of a successful roll. ;)

Thanks of the plates. I'll go look. Hope they are not too pricey. I need roads to finish my destroyed ancient city, and then I need green for my every day field.

Hey we all have a right to an opinion. My wallet's wins every time. I'm sure there is a legitimate point to the age old argument. But I want little men standing on bumps holding weapons. Unless I'm buying stock a companies name means nothing to me. ;)

I found the pieces I need. Not to expensive. Now if only I could find a way to buy 1x4 bump bricks in bulk.

Hell yeah. You don't have money for LEGO, you don't buy LEGO. Clone brands are not an option. They may be 4x cheaper, but their quality is over 9000x worse.

They're not called bumps, they're called studs. Or brick nipples.

i don't mind the use of other brands that much, some of the other brands have some nice pieces.
but calling studs "bumps" is , a stoneing affence, and in true brikwars style the stones must be on fire.

How's that compression ratio?

Ok Studs it is. The quality difference is not something I really notice. I used to have legos as a kid (Star Wars, Some fo the City Stuff, and Racers stuff, as well as whatever that non Indiana, Indiana Jones dude. I had all of his stuff.). They are in a storage unit half a country away. I received Dragons, Mechs, and a few tubs of just rainbow blocks for various Christmases as a child. So I have a lot of MegaBlock. Unless there are some bar graphs on how long they last or something like that I simply don't see the argument here. Sorry. The look and creativity of Lego Sets wins out. When Megablock can't build something they just make up a new part. Lego is creative. I would like them more. It's not just money, it's that I don't see a major difference. Also, they are what I have. Not to mention the fact that my current army of paladins will be using the Bronze Dragon's chests and helms with lego legs and custom lazers and guns. All painted with a light grey and blue color scheme.

Is there any factual data supporting a hatred of off brands? Or is it just a matter of supporting Lego. Because I will also be buying twenty lego men to paint up for my brothers modern army.

On topic with finding parts. Where can I find M-16s and Modern Helms and gear. I want to play a mix of a tabeltop Coutnerattack game, and BrikWars.

Looks to me like children and man-children doing some chest-thumping. I shouldn't worry about it too much ;) Concentrate on the true work - making awesome stuff.
CONGRATULATIONS - you just WON The Game FOREVER. Or you can carry on being a humourless nugget - your call.
