the MK II AD (air deffense) turret was desighned to be used in large numbers to neutralize fighter and bomber threats. each turret houses 2 MK II AA cannons with rapid fire capabillities (compared to regular weapons)
these guns are best used in large batteries to swarm enemy squadrons before they can cause damage.
the inclusion of burst ammunition bumbs the weapons damage up to a MK III at the cost of requiring more onergy and ammunition. this cost is relatively minor and is more than made up for in the increase in damage
(NOTE* the weapon and the housing are independent. special housings can be made for the gun in the form of sponsons however the gun is highly ineffective when unable to rotate on all 3 axis
