the sensors are the main purpose of the sloop. they allow it to be the eyes of the fleet, witch is really all their good for except as alternate boarding craft.

the lobster class sloop of war is a survey ship. it is split into 3 small sections each split by a bulkhead in case of an emergency. the front section is the cockpit where 3 of the 4-5 crew members sit/stand. next is the survey section. it should be noted that the central pillar is removed on the troop variant and this would be where the people stand. finally is the engine in it's own compartment. this is mainly in case the captain needs to overuse the engine. he can open vents essentially removing the air and allowing the engine to be cooled by the vacume of space. this is great for overspeed however if left this way at lower speeds the engine can become so cold that it malfunctions and shuts down.
