I sorta knew about this ealier but couldn't say anything. Now that its out on the internet I can tell ya.

Lego will be making 16 unique mini-figs not seen in any CURRENT theme, or any theme ever. They will be sold individualy in opaque bags, a.k.a. you won't know which is in the bag. Sort of like collecting baseball cards. They will sell the first set of 16 from June to August. Then they will sell a new set of 16 figs. The link below shows a photo list of 16 minifigs, RUMORED to be the first 16. The image is a official lego image, not fan made, but it hasnt been confirmed that these are the first 16 mini-figs.

I can't wait. I plan to buy a bunch of these to trade and collect.

where will they be available? only at Legoland? will they come to europe?

another idea: you said they were sold in bags, which would allow us to figure out which one it is by touch right?

We won't really be able to tell which is which in the bag, as minifigs don't always have obvious features (e.g. printed only designs, no headgear)

Yes!!! I did a pitch for these back in Lego concept lab years ago, and they told me it would NEVER, NEVER happen. "Lego is a construction toy company, not a minifig company." Bah!! But then the Legoland parks have always gotten away with making stuff that was ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED by the suits at Lego HQ.

For the record, the mexican wrestler and caveman were mine. I wish I'd thought of the cheerleader and zombie! I hope they do more than one round of these guys, because there were a whole bunch of great minifig ideas in that pitch.

Yea right. The Pick-A-Brick minifigs at Lego stores, the army building sets, the Clone Wars sets; they're totally minifig-based now. Hardly anyone cares about a cool looking piece anymore compared to a new minifig.

My understanding is that they will be avaliable in stores everywhere, not just legoland parks. Not sure if it will be all retailers or lego brand store only. I now they are going to be in america, but I don't see why not everywhere.

There are two runs confirmed so far. The fist is June&July, with the second run in august. Not sure how many times they will does this. It will be a limitied run for each series.

You came up with the caveman and mexican wrestler? Nice. Oh, this is random, are you ever gonna update the site?

Ooo, I like the lazer pistol of the astronaut.

I'm assuming their legs won't be bent in that way and will be like regular minifigs.

They're still a few months away.

I wonder how much they will cost? Probably 5 bucks a pop, huh?
