Hot on the heels of the recently-added Trans Packs, Will has now also added 4 great new Chrome Packs to the BrickArms line-up: Modern, Scifi, Demolition, and Blade Packs!

All BrickArms chrome accessories are produced via electroplating where the chrome is electromagnetically bonded to the part. It's the highest quality process of chroming there is, and these chrome parts won't chip or flake!

Each pack is $16 and is ready for order today! These are limited edition packs, and when they're gone, there's no guarantee they'll be available again.

So, as it was put in the Trans Pack thread, Yay or Nay?

So is the chrome stuck on these going to stick on even better than the chrome Lego uses? I don't know if Lego still uses the same processas they did before, but I have some old chrome-plated swords and lightsaber hilts that have the chrome gone on the handle. It won't even flake or chip on the handle from the constant exchange between minifig hands (or at least won't have as much of a chance to)?

Correct! LEGO uses another method to chrome their parts, and that method, while much more amenable to mass production, doesn't bond the chrome as tightly and securely to the part as electroplating.

That's not to say that extreme stress on the part might somehow damage the chrome, but if you treat these with care, the chrome plating won't be coming off!

I say yah.

Thanks for making it so that the chrome actually stay on the part.
That really made me made when the chrome chipped off.

i normally don't order stuff, but the fact that the chrome sticks is tempting...

the worst are lego's swords. I got the chamber of secrets when i was younger... sword lost it's chrome within two days.

I say yay but the price seems a tad high. Then again I don't know about the production costs.

Do you think that they'll eventually be sold by themselves?

To produce these accessories, Will uses electroplating, a VERY expensive process that produces some amazing results. However, I would point out that the price per part in those chome packs is ~$2, not much more than a regular BrickArms accessory.

Most likely not. If you're interested in a single chrome item, you could try Toywiz
