Dude.
I must admit I am not much of a fan for the Assyrian Star Empire. Sorry its just not my thing, and now back to the featured vignette.

You made a thread just to show one figure of an army that's someone else's? You didn't even make it up.

I don't object to other people making guys from my armies. But seriously J+B you could have atleast made him hold the rifle with his right hand like everyone else in my army.

Somehow I get the feeling that if anyone else posted this thread, OneEye wouldn't be nearly as booty bothered about it.
Suprisingly enough, I actually made my first Assyrian laser rifle today, since I had the pieces for it lying around right after I got the new Space Police Impulse set (Blacktron jumpsuit, HELL YES). I noticed that the scope is on the right side of the weapon, so my dude with the ALR is also holding it in his left hand. I briefly considered checking online, but decided I was too lazy.

While I found the slaying of the Assyrian dude and the way in which the picture was introduced to have been amusing I am honest enough to admit when faced with any post by J+B I can not but react by thinking, what a little shit this guy is. I have been trained (like Pavlov's dog) into this way of thinking by his previous posts, unfortunate perhaps but since it's J+B I don't much care.
@Natalya, I too (knowingly) put the rifles in the wrong hand in that case. The side that the sight is on kind of suggests it should be held in the left hand (I reasoned that it was so they could then use a melee weapon in the right hand as well). It's the main reason I've never used these weapons in the same way you do. But that doesn't mean you can't do whatever you like... I've wondered about using the sight on the Assyrian Rifle as a holder for a missile/rocket, I've still to try it though.

No, I would think it would be pretty lame if ANYONE posted just one minifig that's unchanged from anyone else's army. The douche comment was to him having the rifle in the wrong hand as a joke.

In about two days you'll get pictures of how that works. (There are some in turn 1 of Death Battle but some idiot made the photobucket expire and it won't be up again until January 3.)

Cool! So, are we being allowed to see what happens when you all meet up and fight it out in the Cali-System? You seem to get lots of problems with photobucket lately, I take it you aren't paying for such shoddy service LOL.
Have you noticed the Assyrian Rifle is cropping up all over the place in other peoples armies? I think the revenue generated from these weapon sales are going towards a new Assyrian Battle Fleet. The Immortals aren't going to like competition in the Arms Trade. Possible future Forum Battle material...
For the sight on the rifle I had been thinking of a general purpose attachment for things like, Rocket, bayonet, chainsaw, OTC, missile etc which would then make the Assyrian Rifle the equivalent of the Combi-weapon of the galaxy. I think the loud hailer part under the main barrel could be used as a short range shotgun or one shot grenade launcher would be a nice touch but opponents would probably start crying and sulk if you tried it...

You will see some innovation in that department as well during the battle tomorrow.
The only real problem with the gun is that it's overpowered, but I wanted to simulate real life where if you get shot by a high-powered rifle you are probably going to die, which is why it's made to be so lethal. As for its simple design, the idea was that those three parts could be re-arranged in a couple other fashions to create different weapons with only those three pieces. It also looks kinda cool for such a simple design.

Ah, right, I think I get it. So like an AK47 apposed to a FN-RAL or M16 it's durable, easy to maintain and build so low cost, it packs a punch and is easy to use. The perfect weapon to distribute in an uprising etc. Yes, the Assyrians are going to prove troublesome indeed to the Immortal incursion. Plans will have to be drawn with care, lol.

but i still don't think they pack the low level firepower to take out the rebellion, unless the bring in the AC.

I just made a new army, it uses the Assyrian Heavy bolter but I made up my own basic rifle design which I like much beter. In going with the recent themes, I geuss I'll be calling them the Akkadians. Plus we just got a new camera that actually works! so I can probally finally get pics up about a whole buch of shit.
