Will probably leave glue behind.
I was thinking of using a sheet of felt if it came down to it.

Anyway here's a dumb thing I did instead of working on finishing the battlefield:

Actually no, but that's an awesome MOC you have there. This has been in the planning phase for several years and thankfully it'll be done in time to compete for a prize.

A nearly year-old picture I found on my phone and realized I forgot to post. I had cannibalized some of the brown tiles on this before taking the picture, so it's not in its best shape.

Whoaaa I love how you used those tan slopes with the brown tiles. Mind if I borrow that design? That looks sweet.

How are the parts to the side connected? Technic pieces? I have the very first version of these knights (the ones that still had paper shields), not sure if these ones are the same.

I'm pretty sure it's technic pieces.

Depends which part of the figure you're referring to. The arms use brackets, the thighs use these, and the shins use Technic half-pins.

Anyway, here's an even simpler half-timbering technique that is also from almost a year ago.

It's not quite as convincing as the other one, but it's a heck of a lot easier to build and source the parts for. It works just as well with 2x4 wedge plates if you prefer.
