Brik Newbie advice needed

Today I heard about the game of BrikWars for the first time from a friend telling me to go to this website. I have been a fan of tabletop gaming for a long time and seeing how this is a cost friendly and easy to learn game it looked appealing right away, not to mention the fact I have tons of old Legos from my younger days.
Now, I also discovered that on Monday my friend will be hosting a game of Brikwars at his home, possibly with 3-5 other people, with only one of them having prior game experience.
I have already read the online guide of rules, loving the humor at each page, and I know most of the basics (need to refresh myself on the more advanced rules such as charging, special creations ect.). I want to give myself an edge over the competition by going straight to the websites playerbase to get some friendly tips and tricks to the trade of obliterating my opponents. Later I plan to go through my lego cache for people weapons, and bricks. I do know I have an armored APC vehicle in an acceptable condition to use as well.
Thanks for any info you guys can give me.

Tip 1(to make the game better):
-Use only baseplates. Walking on plain floor sometimes seems wrong.
Now for the tips with the strategy, each scenario is unique and i can't tell you anything if i don't know the battlefield.
Where do you live?

Remember to not get too competitive, and forget about winning. All that matters is if you have fun and blow as much shit up as possible.

Also, don't forget the nuclear-powered genetically engineered slightly soggy hamster-covered sperm whales. It's also handy to have a large container of red pieces (blood) and fire (fire duh). Then you can artistically position the blood and fire arranged in a masterpiece. What battle couldn't use more artistic blood and fire displays?

I live in New Jersey, and I think im going to try and make some ridiculously strange creations. My original idea was to have one brute headed strong leader filled with waves and waves of foddering lego men, but unsure how many people I will be able to find I may have to improvise. But I think I will have some fun modifying/downgrading my APC tank for the job.

There is strength in numbers. Try to aways have 2 minifigs close to each other, so if one minifig dies, the other can kill the attacker before he get's closer.
There is no honor in Brikwars. Attack the enemy with force. Show no mercy. (If there is an old man walking along the sidewalk and he's in your way, don't waste your turn going around him! KILL HIM!)
Fudge as much as you can get away with. And I mean, a lot.
Don't just do the conventional "Move your troops forward." movement. Use actual tactics. Flank the enemy, circle them, ambush them, do anything you can to kill the enemy.

Bigger isn't always better but it certainly looks a lot cooler.

this also has the added benefit that if both of them survive you can let them kill each other, to ensure that no one survives.

As the Ruler of Fudge, the best advice I can give you is to forget as many rules as possible. The chances are nobody else remembers them either. The more simple the game is the better.
Also, make sure that you all have a steady supply of caffeinated beverages. If you guys aren't incredibly hyper when you play, then all the funny stuff won't seem as funny.
It's not about gaining the edge, but ruling the fudge. Make junk up, think of funny stuff, do stupid things that make you lose but are so funny you can't pass it up. If anyone that you're playing with gets too serious and won't stop, feel free to team up against him and massacre his army. The sooner he's out of the game, the sooner you guys go back to having fun.

vehicles>infantry because you can loose hlaf your army in a single turn if infantry get clumped together, however don't make giant vehicles just a bunch of small ones with a few minnifigs for suport like mechanix, mediks, snipers and lots of genades. (1by1 round bricks)

I never intended to use FOX on a BrikWar. He's a MOC, ok? Because of him, i earn two new sets in a school contest.
