you got any of those pieces with studs on the sides of em? use those as baseline spines of your creation, and work around those, expanding outwards.

a different method is to flat out build your creation sideways. place studs on the FRONT of your creation, and let them continue backwards. it's okay if you have open studs on the back of your model since it looks fairly greebly, but putting plates on the back can take care of that. speaking of greebles, you can use all these outward-facing studs to put all those random plates, grills, and other random crap you have lying around and don't know what to do with.

Good advice, I used that for my Volkswagen and numerous others. Bricks with studs on the side and soooo many other ways.

You can describe one way to SNOT, but yeh can't describe all of em'. TOO MANY. So just floof around with pieces and you'll find out. And listening to IV helps too....

I've never asked on the internet for Lego advice. I've been building for almost 13 years now. My friend just started a year or two ago, and he just kept a building, and now he's pretty darn good. Having a lot of pieces helps too.

But mostly the best thing that can help is TRIANGlE JOB'D!!!

What's 5 plates=2 studs? Trust me,my problem isn't creativity,it's lack of peices to create with.

Then Bricklink would definitely be what you're looking for here.

Studs
Not
On
Top

SNOT is when you build where, well, the studs aren't on top...

five plates placed sideways are as wide as two studs.

Hahahahahaha!

That was a hilarious picture.

Technically that is SNOT, but what it really means is building things thataren't just up and down. Side-to-side, diagonal, angles, anything that's not just on brick on top of the other.

Yes, it is. Not a very spiffy or nifty one, but it is SNOT.

Try this.

S.N.O.T is anything other than Brick on top of brick, you say? Well, then...

All of these are made with S.N.O.T...
