Star Wars Vehicle Creations

Is it sad that I think I'd be a better Vehicle designer then the
Baktoid Armor Workshop?
Admittedly, the design of the
Multi-Troop Transport makes more sense when it was originally made to carry living troops into battle, allowing the fastest deployment from a cavernous internal staging area...
...But when you refit it to use a giant Droid Rack that takes FOREVER to unfold, it makes one wonder how the Separatists didn't loose the war right from the git-go!
That, coupled with a lack of actual folding droid racks in Lego sets, has driven me to begin work on this:
The LADT, or Light Armored Droid Transport.
Basically, it's a Space Skeleton IFV, a roughly "T" shaped Repulsorlift craft that will hopefully be styled like other Trade Federation Vehicles.
I'm planning on using that light post as one of two forward facing cannon turrets on the sides.

Sounds awesome. I always love to see fan-made star wars vehicles and stuff. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Be sure to keep bugging me about it then, so I actually go back and work on it.

I would suggest adding a turret, and using more rounded edges.

This baby is going to have sponson mounted CANNONS!

I know safety of passengers is not a priorty, but will this be enclosed? Right now, in a weaponless state, the droids should just walk! But it does look good so far.

*facepalm*
Do you not notice those massive guns sticking off the sides? Also, I'd suggest putting on red studs on the eyes/scopes on the guns.

No, the droid rack isn't going to be enclosed, but that was the whole point of putting it behind those large gull-wings.
It give the droids a little cover while they deploy, and allow the gunner to emergency release them without extending the rack.
And, as Robot Monkey has pointed out, it does have massive Turbolaser Sponsons.

Hmmm... that's a tough call...
On the one hand, they are the photo-receptors that allow the gunner/driver to see what they are looking at...
...On the other, putting a red stud on them would make the thing look like the IFV cousin of the
Persuader droid-tanks...
Also, I think it might need the addition of some smaller Anti-personal guns, but I can't think of where to put them...
Anyways, feel free to post your own Star Wars vehicles guys!

Also, maybe you could put a plate/platform underneath the droids to make the tank look a bit more solid.

Eh, that's probably interfere with the folding mechanism...
The thing is build around it after all.
And it is pretty solid underneath, a 4X8 plate with slide shoes in addition to the outrigging in the front.

I personally think that those "gull wings" need to be bulked up a bit and smoothed out to capture the finished feeling. I can see how the vehicle would operate, it just doesn't make much sense for the Federation to be deploying units quite like that.
Also, from Star Wars : The New Essential Guide To Vehicles and Vessels, we have this quote on the MTT's capabilities...
Hexler Pend, Naboo Royal Security Forces officer wrote:"We were hiding in the armory and then bam! The whole wall just fell down. Three tons of duracrete reduced to rubble by the business end of an MTT... I'm not ashamed to admit that we surrendered."
The MTT is a blitzerkreig device, built to punch a hole in anything aimed at it, with the added capabilities of disgorging several squads worth of disposable cannon fodder at will. To be fair, the techs running the Naboo confrontation weren't going about that battle in a tactical way- it was solely a show of force, intended to send the primitives running once they saw the "power of this fully operational battle station-" *cough* er, army. Good job with the rest of it though, looks good.
