Skellies

Post by Olothontor » Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:46 pm

Anyone know a good place to buy just skeletons, or a set that has a good amount of skeletons that won't give me some huge lego monstrosity that I won't use for anything? I need more for my new army concept.

I like the $20 war wagon thing for castle. It has many weapons horses and a few figs.

Okay, thanks. I'll see what I can get from that...

Also, see that army concept I was talking about here.

Mmmm, the Final Joust box set is a really good one. A black skeletal horse, a normal horse, a normal minifig, a skeleton, a fence, and a rack with three extra weapons! Oh, and flags. Those are important. Flags are oh so very useful.

One thing you have to realize about the Final Joust skeleton is that it's really just a regular minifig dressed in black with white hands and a skeleton head. It's not a "real" skeleton.

The Knight's Catapult Defense has two skeletons and a defensive position in addition to the catapult (with boulder!). That would probably be a better way to go if you're trying to collect skellies.

I may be jumping in a little late here, but I would recommend the Lego Castle Chess set. It's great for getting lots of infantry, officers, heros, and weapons for $50. Get one, and presto, you've got a Royal Army vs Undead Brikwars battle to go.

One of the many things I've wanted to do but haven't gotten around to yet, is to make BrikWars scenarios for the chess sets each year. A sheet of unit stats for both sides, some excuse why they're on a chessboard, etc. They're the perfect sets for just having a battle ready to go straight out of the box.

Right now at the Lego store, the Castle Chess set is discounted to $40.

There is one in the mail headed to me.

If you're in a position to get to a lego store you may get lucky and find some in the minifig building bins.

A friend and I went recently and picked up 20+ skeleton minifigs (old style arms), but unfortunately all the heads had gone, so we were stuck with the ferrari driver's head, because it was white and skull(ish). It was a bit creepier that way though!

Other than that, as has been said before, bricklink, but the skulls don't seem too available or cheap unfortunately.

...As I've noticed. We shall have to see what happens when I go check out and support my local Lego store. There's one somewhere in Potomac Mills...
