So I finally got around to building a hardsuit, and this is what I came up with. I wanted something for the League of Well Dressed Gentlemen, so I named it "The MegaTux 8000". Anyways, thought you guys would like to see it, so I made sure to take tons of pictures so you can marvel at all the hard work I put into this LoL. Anyways, enjoy!

I can't imagine how hard it must have been to find every single one of those little pieces and design it like you did

I gets tophats in trade with Captain Nomouth. Good trade I say. However, there are many older sets with tophats, like almost all of the Adventurers sets. Johnny Thunder's nemesis wears tophat. Also Penguin from batman sets wears tophat. Other than that, check BRICKLINK AND EBAY!!!!! MUAH HA HA HA HA!!!!

When it comes to all the pieces and junk, yeah it was pretty hard to do. I had NO t-bar pieces nor spout pieces which most people use for hardsuits, so I had to improvise quite a bit. The model is fairly fragile, and very intricate. It's also quite pose-able, but I failed to upload those pics. It was by far the most difficult model I've ever attempted to build. It was like putting together a big jigsaw puzzle without a picture to look at for reference. I had to experiment A LOT to find out what worked and what didn't.... I learned a lot while building it, and I hope to make more stuff later.

Yea, I don't have any T's either, I mostly used pieces that weren't really made to move a lot. I used rods in a "lantern" piece with the "lantern connected on to the rest of the body by two plates so it can swivel... Not sure how else to describe it... Here, I'll put a couple pictures...

The hardsuit itself, the "lantern" deal I used with the legs to make the bottom half of them, the shins, at that angle.

The gun, used the Bionicle method to give the arm full movement, pretty much.

But I'm a purist. Bionicle is cheap in my opinion. I could have done that, but I felt that I wouldn't be doing the suit justice. I only regret I wasn't able to use the better hinge techniques. Alas, I did not have the technology LoL

Well, I had some laying around. Techincally I only used one piece that was Bionicle that I'm sure you could find in another set; the piece that the ball pieces go in.

Darn, I need a better vocabulary.

Anyway, it still looks good, there's so many different ways to do movement, especially for hardsuits and mechs. If you want it to be nicely posable, though, just don't use hinges and things that take a little force to move. Just one little nudge past the tension point and the creation can go flying out of your hands and smash on the floor.

It sucks.

Agreed, which is another reason I don't use bionicle. That's what always seems to happen when I use it. However, the piece I used for joints for this one are a little loose in some parts. Sometimes it falls apart in my hands.

The Bionicle's purpose is to play Godzilla in some LEGO® city, BrikWars or not.

I got 5 tophats coming thru bricklink. YAY!

It's called a socket. The joint is called a ball-and-socket joint.

I have a copule "well dressed gentlemen" as well! They too have top hats!
