Better pictures will be provided when I complete it. But it's practically done.

This is the first time I:
- Mosaic'd a furniture piece
- Made colour washes (gradients)
- Incorporated electronics (LEDs here)

I think it's always good to experiment. The little stars, it is hard to tell in the pictures, but they have LEDs behind them which are powered by some AA batteries on the underside of the table.

To be completed:
- Install switch on underside for the LEDs
- Apply some kind of finish to the paint

Got the table from Craig's List and painted it and stuff.

Maybe I should have put the ad in the thread in Marblecake.

Very cool. I was almost wondering if a pane of glass over the mosaic would a good idea or not.

Probably but I don't know how I would affix it. Another option is to coat the glass with epoxy.

The colour gradient in the background works very well, didn't pick out the different stripes of it until I read down and went back for a second glance.

Okay it's finished now. I decided not to epoxy the top, but the LEDs are wired properly now with batteries and a switch, and I put a protective finish on the paint. Now it is for sale on Etsy.

The perspective is a little screwy. The orange and brown are desert, the blue is the sky.
