Thats super difficult.
I made a bookcase in highschool, the sides were like frames, not solid.
All the corners were mitered, badly.

My dad always makes me mitre everything. It looks great. And when you show people your mitred corners you can be all like "that was super difficult but it looks great."

Unfortunately 17 year old me didn't practice 20 times on pine before butchering some red oak.
The end product looks cool still.

No, it's 3/4" angle aluminum from Home Depot.

I don't have a chop saw. I used a hand-held hacksaw to cut the metal. With my tools there's no way I could achieve a result I'd be proud of when it comes to the metal frames. If I make a backing "frame" on some of the larger rectangular pieces then that's always mitred. (See the giant Link for example.)

So get a chop saw. When I need one I go to my local hackerspace. It's a wonderful place to lose a few fingers. The coffee there is the best, and everyone is so friendly!

You could also make a guide jig out of wood and clamps. The worst thing that can happen is you waste a bunch of time and buy more tools (and many, many more clamps), which is still a pretty good result.

What kind of hacksaw do you use? I use a Bahco 325. I think it's the best of the cheap hacksaws.

Artistic Notes:
- Stained glass on clear glass with silicone to glue it down and grout between the lines.
- NOT a tracing!! Sure it's still The Major, but this time I free-handed her while looking at a reference picture. Makes me feel better about it.
- Purple bars are a binary representation of one of the days I was working on it.
- I have not decided on a title, but I am thinking of "This Day Will Last Forever" which kind-of fits with the top part.
- "This Day Will Last Forever" is also part of a line in a Judas Priest song.
- That's me holding the piece in first pic; one of my derby team mates and stained glass padawan/disciple took the picture.

I think that you should do something Brikwars-related in a relatively small size so you could then build the Dread Pirate 2x2/DSM/Brikthulhu Church of Re-retkonstruktion and use it as a stained glass rose behind the altar, so every minifig would travel there to worship it and bring their ABS offerings in hopes of delaying Ragnablok.



EDIT: Sorry, let myself go for a bit there. That last one is pretty great, digging the sun/fireball behind the binary bars and the infinity symbol.
