I had many setbacks when building the frame, it was the hardest part. I estimate about 5 hours work total, but in future I'll be able to make another one in less time.

Yeah the frame is brushed ¾" angle aluminum. Home Despot sells it in 8' sticks. I cut the pieces then clamped them and filed them to size. I used size 8 screws to attach them to the wood behind the tiles.
