It looks good to me, but in my opinion poetry should be a spoken art rather than a written one - I've always found it to be more engaging to listen rather than just read.
Thus, I'm afraid I can't say anything other than it "looks good" because I'm the one reading it out loud, not you.
As for story writing. Fire away old chappe, I look forward to your work.
