This was pretty good. But it needed something. What could it be?

Hmmm...

That looks better. But wait, something is still missing...

Oh!

There we go.

Thx to TBD & Silverdream for advice.

I don't really draw in the sense of drawing people or landscapes, but sometimes on rare occasions I have no choice but to put my ideas onto paper with a piece of graphite like some kind of fucking caveman.
Image
I think that this is basically OK for a sketch of an idea, especially since it was my first time drafting instead of using CAD. It was good enough to explain what I wanted to do to other people when purchasing materials, at least.

Later I made it into a beautifully realized tool, but of course that was many months ago and I've fucked it up since then.

Image

The rest of my house is beautifully neat and spotless (OK, my garden is kind of messy but its not in the house). All of the mess has become concentrated in this one fucking place where I spend a good third of my life.

I love workspaces and stuff. If anything it looks like you should have gone bigger with that table. Or build another one. More tools, a milk crate for scrap wood, better lighting.

This is now also a workspaces thread, just because.

This is what my home workspace looks like.

On the wall, you can see that the kids gave me some cutouts in case I need extra high-fives when they're not around.

I wish I could say the giant Hello Kitty was mine, but unfortunately it belongs to mandanopants. I haven't even tried statting it out for BrikWars yet.

I'm about to build a UAV. To do that I have to clear out my worksurface. OK. Time to unfuck this ball of fuckery that has spent months raveling into the pile it is now. I will edit this post in about 4 hours with my success or failure.

EDIT: Awwright, lets do it.

I didn't bother resizing any of these pics by the way. Also, they were all taken with my phone.

Image

Somehow in the time since my last post this physical representation of my depression has expanded, like a sponge made of trash.

Image
So I cleaned it up,

Image
And got to work. This drone is just a warmup for the one I want to build, this is a cute little open source guy, came to my house straight from China, very cheap.

Image

Look at its little batteries! :<3:

Now, there aren't any instructions, so let's see what we've got to work with.
Image

Fucking clever! And lucky for me, no QC problems with my board.

Now, you just need to take those legs off the sprue...
Image
Image
Once you've got it scored like that with your knife, wiggle it out.

Image

Then just pop 'er in!

Image

Quick and simple, the battery hasn't even finished charging yet. Only problem is those plastic tabs are only good on one side of mine, so I have to put the rest of the build off until the morning.

DOUBLE EDIT: Stubby, is that your only workspace? Or do you have another table in the dungeon basement where you build your IEDs and shit?
