Zupponn's Sprite Dump

Post by Zupponn » Tue Feb 24, 2015 3:41 am

So, I posted these all in chat, but I thought that I'd post them here too for those who missed them.

Image
I'll start off with these guys as I have no idea what part of my mind these characters came from. Looking at them just makes me want to make a game with them just to see how fucked up it would get.

Image
This guy is mostly just a copy of the Pokemon main character sprite, but making it taught me so much about spriting.

Image
This guy is my pride and joy when it comes to spriting. He's 100% mine and looks fairly decent. He was definitely inspired by Meat Boy in terms of size and shape, and will probably be the hero if I ever make a video game.

Image
These guys are some enemies that I made for the hero above. They were created a year or two after the hero and I never got around to animating them. Luckily, I stumbled upon them about two weeks ago. These are the most recent of all the sprites and are about 2 years old.

Image
Be thankful I don't use this as my avatar here. I'd imagine the flashing would get annoying. :D

Thanks! I call him Commando Ninja. He was created in the original Game Boy palette because I wanted to attempt to make a game in that palette at the time. Going with those 4 colors also allowed me to focus more on the animation and less on coloring. I've recolored him in the NES palette more recently, but I think the Game Boy colors look better.
