Using 3D Models for Drawing Reference

Post by Natalya » Wed Apr 15, 2015 12:00 pm

For today's adventure I needed to draw a character for a new mosaic I want to make. But I wanted to use a different perspective than just face-on and I don't have a reference picture which means I needed to draw it.

So I opened up Milkshape 3D and loaded a player model of Zoey in a Manly Santa Day outfit that I made late last year.

I saved a bunch of pictures into my reference folder.

The final pose will look something like the centre shot here. I have the wireframe included on the left to help me draw it.

Drawing is a huge weakness for me. I've had no training in it and I haven't really practiced since high school, so this really helps. Hopefully I can make something cool with these references.

What's Zoey supposed to be doing with her hands?

At first she was all like, something is almost excellent.
Then she has a tummy ache.
