Natalya's Tech Beats

I know I've posted a couple of these before. They're an ongoing series. I'm going to use this thread to list all of them as I make them.

I do start them in numerical order but I don't always finish the ones I've started, so the completion order isn't the same as their number.

Now for the one that started it all -- Tech Beat #00:

Tech Beat #04:

This is the newest one, and it was for this one that I made the thread. I will of course add more later, but now they're becoming a collection.

With this one there is an arpeggio that was built into a program present in the song. I don't really like the idea of using pre-made things like that, but the basic "note sounds" from it are why I took it. I tried to work with it so that it wouldn't do much of whatever pattern was built into it and so it would work more to what I wanted it to sound like, but there is a bit in there that wasn't me and I feel uncomfortable with that. A professional working on a song would want the whole thing to be theirs allowing of course for collaboration with others on the same thing. But that's why people credit samples or whatever. Hmmm I guess I'm rambling. Point is I feel uncomfortable about it but I liked how it sounded so I included it anyway, and I did try to mess it up so that it wasn't exactly as it had been.

Tech Beat #01 was started in 2011 but I only finished it now. I wrote half the melody and like the rest of the song. The first half of the melody comes from a Sonic game. I've tried on like 3 occasions that I can remember to separate the Sonic melody out and leave only mine in there, but the transition I had made from the Sonic to mine was just too perfect and I was unsuccessful writing a new introductory sequence for my melody so I ended up leaving the Sonic part in. As far as my Tech Beats go, any future releases will probably end up being 100% my content. I just felt like this one had to be finished on account of how old it is before I continued with newer ones.

I made all of the sounds heard in this, nothing came from a sound library. I was just trying to put the sounds I'd been making to use and this is what I came up with.

Not everyone is as gifted as we are.

I like it Natalya. It is a bit repetitive and I think it needs another instrument just to make it sound better.

It almost sounds like when a CD skips for a lot of the song because of the complete silence followed by faster notes that slow back to normal pace very quickly. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but that's what I heard.

The heavy beat of the bass is drowning out the second note in the triplets in the opening section. It's making them sound like eighth notes, which gets kind of boring.

It's funny how in the program I use to make this stuff it sounds one way then in the MP3 the mixing is always a little off. I could have tried making the bass a little less powerful.
