I, as a matter of fact, don't play an instrument. I only sing. Badly. Get your ear plugs ready, I may burst out in song!.
I am in a band though because there is a hot chick in it. Duh!

Even I am in a band and I don't even play an instrument.. yet/anymore
actually they just dubbed me as our singer, without ever hearing me sing..
and I just kinda said ok.
now they're forcing me to learn how to play a guitar.
also wtf ace, why have you just decupled your post count in just a few minutes?

Sounds like my band; they want me to know how to play every instrument under heaven...

fortunately, if you learn one instrument, the other ones learn really quickly. especially going stringed to stringed or something like that. Guitar to Bass is super easy. drums are the toughest ones to learn, but if you've got rhythm you can do it.

I don't know about other bassists, but guitar is impossible for me. I'm used to having fat strings, big spaces between the strings and larger frets. When I try to play guitar I always end up failing horribly.

yeah, but going from a clarinet you haven't played in years, to playing a guitar is slightly hard for me.

but imagine if you tried to learn piano from bass. it's a whole different system, whereas guitar still has the EADG strings with an extre BE.
also, Rody, you still have an advantage because you know what going up and down in notes means, and you have previous experience just flat out understanding music. which is half the battle of learning an instrument.

Funny that you chose that analogy, I started out playing piano

This topic's original topic got nerfed to make room for a discussion on bands. Nice guys. Well, might as well contribute...
I don't play an instrument, only sing. I was kind of... abducted into my band. I was singing through the halls of school, I think it was
Welcome To The Black Parade (The opening part), and was suddenly assailed by a random person who wanted to start a band. I don't really have much interest in learning to play an instrument... CONSTRUCTIVELY. I do want to learn to play guitar... just because.
And, Ace, I win. I'm the only guy in my band (Me being lead vocalist, the guitarist, bassist, and drummer are all women of my age

)
EDIT: Oh, and I nearly forgot: our band's name is
Savage Tide.

Sure just pay me 5 bucks.
I actually originally got it from the fleebnorks, which are notorious for their bad manners and repeated statements of 'PLEH!'
