A pen and receiver combo that tracks your penstrokes for up to 50 sketches and uploads them to a computer for use with applications like Photoshop or Illustrator.

You draw on plain paper with a standard ball point pen cartridge inserted in the stylus.

Have some doubts about it, but its definitely amazing!

I saw something like this in prototype like a year ago, pretty neat.

However, my sketches are always REALLY rough and hairy, so it wouldn't help me out much. Even if I did an underdrawing then used the pen, it would be just as easy to do the underdrawing, scan it, and do the whole thing in Illustrator.

I've got to agree with this. You can achieve the same basic effect with a scanner.

Discussing this on the Newtek forum we decided the benefits are:

Layers, you can make new layers as you draw
Converts directly to vectors if you want
Portability, scanners are not portable.



The one downside may be the accuracy of the line recording.
But I would never buy this without testing first, or seeing a video test of the line accuracy.

Why not simply use a Wacom Intudos or something?

Obviously Keldoclock has either never used a tablet before, or has never used a pen before.
