It's attack and damage, last time I checked.

any ideas on what I should get with 2500 gold? I don't have access to a magic item compendium, otherwise I'd be all over this, but... suggestion plox (something more attack related would be good, as I have magic missile right now as my strongest spell)

Check out making a wand in the DMG. A wand of acid splash is infinitely useful. There are a few other things you can do with wands at 3rd level as well.

What does a Monk need to buy? Quarterstaffs are free(I think), and I can't wear armor. I'm thinking about picking up a few Shurikens, but I don't need 2700 of them...

Well, your average magic weapon is 2500 gold, so we could always give you some weapon imbued with the element of your choice. alternativly, most cantrips (0 level spells) exist in the form of wands that cost only 750 gold, and house 50 uses. head onto chat and we can discuss specifics.

Correction: A weapon that takes any ability in place of a Bonus must already have at least a +1 Bonus already applied.

i.e To make your weapon Flaming (+1 Bonus) you'd already have to have a +1 on the weapon (an of course it needs to be masterwork. So a +1 Flaming whatever would START at 8,300gp.

Now, you could pick one of your weapons and give it a +1 bonus without anything else. Including the necessary masterwork cost, a weapon like that would be 2,300gp.

I choose to ignore this.
