New Tru Republic of the Wastes (Peach)

Back Story of The Wastes wrote: Not much is known about the past. Legends of this world are fragmented at best with different accounts of its history with each region. Some say that great prosperity was throughout this world until The Fall. The planet’s native population has most likely been wiped out or fled during The Fall. The current population of this planet is primarily composed of the descendants of soldiers guarding the planet since The Fall or from survivors of crash landings. People are looking to stay alive more than anything else on this harsh planet. Radioactivity and toxicity on the planet has decreased enough for fragments of society to finally grow. This allows these fledgling societies to finally communicate with others, which usually means war. The scars of this conflict are still evident today. No one knows why The Fall occurred. All is known that if this world was the prize, then nobody won.

Making an attempt at building up some small factions to get my hands bloody at BW. Unfortunately, most of my Lego is in storage because my house is for sale. This Light Tank will likely be the largest MOC I can build with available bricks, which are limited to one tote that contains a tackle box of loose bricks. Anything else will likely be MODDed sets instead of a complete MOC.

The Lego I have in the tote is very assorted, so I've chosen to build post-apocalyptic/steampunk factions to include as many types of figs as possible.

I built this Light APC as a "challenge" given by Motorhead Fan requesting an example of a tank turret. My original tanks had terrible turrets, so I built this one. I'm very pleased with the turret. Took me weeks to build this thing, with a lot of complete rebuilds. It's a real pain having only a couple gallons of loose bricks to build with.

I built the turret, and basic chassis first. Then, built up the rest of the vehicle from the chassis to the turret. A special thanks to M220 for sharing his APC that provided the way to build a lower profiled vehicle.

The hatches both open and minifigs fit through them.

The top cover in the front and rear along with the turret all come off as shown. Six figs total fit inside this Tank with their weapons. You can also see that the rotation plate goes through a major portion of the Light Tank's chassis.

Here's a final image of everyone that was inside the tank with their weapons.

That APC's looking good! I like how you used the cheese bricks to make the viewing ports.

Also, brace for the impeding Honore commentary saying how this or that isn't as realistic as it should be and disregard it.

Mutants are people too. Looks like they're going to have to fight for survival.

The ramming prow was originally a cow-catcher with the cheese wedges sloped the same direction as the sloped bricks, but I think it looks way better as is.

I see that hatred of the Peach is very strong in this thread.

I finished a draft of the back story for this faction and updated the first post. I attempted to not go against the Canon, but have people from The Wastes have a very distorted view of Canon events that occurred in the past. I also make no attempt to name the planet and its location, except that it has been obliterated long ago likely between.

The war has changed...or did it? The answer is no... Unless it is yes...No, of course it is! Is war! Yes! No! Yes?
