Ikensall drew some pictures.

I even coloured one of them in!

It's supposed to float in the air, how is a secret. Other than that, I think I went a little OTT on the contour lines, but I wanted it to look fat.

I decided to colour this in because I like the idea of giving a (flying) ship camouflage, in this instance; autumn camouflage for all your pink-red-orange-airship-hiding needs. I realise that not all that much of the ship is camouflaged. Besides that, the scanner (I'm new to scanners) - which decided to uber-enlarge the image - doesn't seem to have picked up some of the colours, notably yellow and the bits where I tried to make the white crew compartment (which is where the boiler room should theoretically be) look rusty. I used water-colour pencils, if anyone's wondering.

That's about it. I might draw some more if I get bored, or I may not if I have a super interesting, hyperactive few weeks.

Nice. The lines are a little rough, though.

The rough lines are because when I'm drawing these out on the page they are about 5 cm across, and the scanner focuses in on them. The scanner also makes the colours look pretty washed out (despite some attempts at enhancing). In front of me on paper this tank's hull is completely teal green and there are brown streaks everywhere, I guess I'll have to press down harder.

ALSO: I would like ideas for flags to put on these things, if anybody wants a go at describing colours and designs in words.

I swear the hull was green when I drew it...

I tried to use the shading to give it a tumblehome, not entirely sure if it worked or if I just need to man up and press down harder.

I use a fine ball pen for all the main lines (I prefer ones on the verge of running out, because they make neater lines), some watercolour pencils that I normally don't add water to and a very pointy pencil for gunmetal bits and drawing details over stuff already coloured in.

But you draw really small vehicles right?

Anyways, I like the mix of browns and blues on those last two. They seem old and rusty.

The bigger tank in the last pair was exactly 2 cm across. I've always done doodles really small because whenever I tried to do them larger they just don't look as intricate; I prefer it when it feels like you can't quite zoom in enough to see all the details.

A bit bigger this time, last one for a while though. I hope, 'cause this is seriously getting in the way of homework.

I'm absolutely loving the surreal nature of these. The second one looks very reminiscent of the Where the Sidewalk Ends cover.

Are the new ones bigger than the old ones? The line quality looks significantly better.

Thanks guys (I've got one more I might get done before too long), and yes they are a lot larger than the others; hence the better resolution.

Your work is starting to look less and less like small doodles. These are great!
