By 'we' I meant Hungarian retail. I sell used stuff from time to time, but I'm against the principle of buying sets solely for the purpose of resell.

I basically agree with you but I did grow up watching Gilligan's Island, I Dream of Jeannie, Happy Days, and all those old sitcoms which I really enjoyed as a kid. Wonder if they hold up now (doubtful).
I've never watched an episode of BBT but according to one of my irlbesties it's "kind of a show that makes fun of out entire lifestyle."

I was a big fan of Arrested Development and Faulty Towers is probably the funniest piece of television of all time. Father Ted was another funny show that had a laugh track but it never felt too forced. Probably because I was laughing for 30 minutes straight.

Spoiler
Show
I dunno why, but BBT plays on stereotypes and bores me, whereas Father ted plays on stereotypes (albeit slightly more niche ones), and I can't think of anything tat entertains me more.

I think owning any number of unopened lego sets would drive any proper legohead mad.

Still excited about these pirates sets, their new small-shooters make good cannonades for the small boats. Note the pirate wench and the new crocodile.

If something is clever and genuinely humorous (yeah, yeah, I know humor is subjective, so I can only speak for myself), then it can stand on it's own and let me make up my own mind about it's quality. If I really find it funny, I'll laugh - I don't need to be slapped in the face with a big neon sign saying "Attention dimmies: That one sure was a knee-slapper, yup, that it was!"

It's not that I'm against humor - it's that I tend to like wittiness more than obvious farces. Something like Avengers was funny to me, while sitcoms just make me roll my eyes.
You should check out 21 and 22 Jump Street. Both were hilarious.

I watch the Big Bang Theory, but in my defense, I watch while wearing black face, because I'm "keeping it real".

Can't find any faults in this.

Rip off the front of that plane and attach it to the arm of your next mech.

If you want to post pics can you please just edit your original post instead of posting like 4 times?

The real insult-added-to-injury is that they picked BBT over a Jules Verne theme.
Not just a Jules Verne theme, a combination Jules Verne and Back to the Future theme!

Although honestly the greebles from that set look nice. Not that I'd get it, but i do get the appeal.

I like how the Dr Who sets have question marks by them.

Who?

I'm so disappointed how both you and Voin got that wrong, IV. It's the train at the end of BTTF3.

If they make the Big Bang Theory set, Sheldon will then exist and demand that they make the Train set.

I think the general concensus is not that this will hurt TLC monetarily, quite the opposite (since a lot of gezimpo fans could buy this box even if they don't collect lego otherwise, just like they did with BTTF and GB sets).
It appears that most of us are against the source material here.
Personally if I had any valid way to influence the ideas system, I'd put slavish pop culture creations on the no-no list. My beef being that more often than not people just want the minifigs and don't give a rats butt about the bricks included, and only do silly things like "lol I put homer's head on batman". Alas I don't, and end of the day it's just my opinion, which is not authority, so I'll just vote with my wallet and buy birds instead. Or some other sets. Or bricklink stuff. IDK.

Also the new gator looks dumb.
