Hello everyone! After a long absence I'm back, and I bring you stuff.
Yes! Stuff!

I've been coming out of a bit of a dark age that started due to my life basically collapsing in front of me and everything went to shit, depression, poverty, surgery and so on and so forth. However That doesn't matter now as I'm back.

The purpose of this thead is similar to Scythe's thread, it'll be a place for me to post my creations and backstory for my new faction. That way I don't have to sift through hundreds of topics just to find one of my older things, and you guys can find everything I create and post in one place.

Onto The show. Ahem.


I decided to start anew with a new faction (albeit one similar to the old one.) I've named it OCSS (Office of Colonial Security and Stability.) It is the same faction that plays a key role in the sci-fi novel that I'm writing, of course this particular faction has somehow found themselves in the brikverse, cut off from Earth and the other colonies the OCSS are stuck with two systems, both orbiting a gargantuan black hole. A panicking civilian population and a rebellion eager to seize the initiative now that reinforcements are out of the question.
The situation is stabilizing, the brave men and women of the OCSS reclaim town after town, clearing vast arcology domes and putting down riots until peace seems attainable once again.

Then a mysterious vessel enters their space. It lacks a drive-flare and appears to oscillate through space and time, faster than anything in the OCSS arsenal. It fades in and out of reality at will.
Have these beings unlocked the secrets of FTL?

A diplomatic fleet is launched, their engines burn a searing wound into space as they close the gap with the mysterious vessel. It doesn't respond to hails, warning shots are considered but ultimately rejected. Eventually the two vessels manage to dock. The gleaming white diplomatic cruiser contrasts with the rusty hulk that they've been chasing.
The ambassador opens the airlock, his armored bodyguards stand tense.
For a split-second they see an alien beings deformed face, eyestalks, flaps of skin. It gurgles something bizzarre. "Meesa kill u." Rotten teeth glisten in the humid air as it smiles an ugly grin. "Meesa eata yor hair!"

Then it throws poop at the diplomat.

Things escalate and after a long feces filled battle, the Jar-Jars are defeated.
There are casualties.

News of the events reach high command, they all go :wtc:
What kind of universe have they gotten themselves into?



Dropship

An old workhorse before the event that thrust them into this strange new reality, robust and reliable. It seats one pilot and four infantrymen on the outside.

This particular example is armed with an autocannon, a missile pack, and a light gatling gun controlled by mounted infantry. The other weapons are controlled by the pilot whose helmet allows for intuitive targeting and annihilation of foes.

Unfortunately this example was dropped on the floor by the creator. (Or so the order of the pink appendage, May the fleshy fingers guide us all. Think.) And was never rebuilt. It is replaced in part by the Unarmed Fast Shuttle.


Fast Shuttle

This shuttle is unarmed but incredibly fast, it uses starship grade Drive-particle generators and is capable of both space and atmospheric operation. It was not initially designed for military service but after the Event starship scarcity was a real threat so civilian ships were confiscated and fitted with armour.

Even so it's still a civilian ship and as such, rather fragile. It also has poor load capacity and the three lift jets stand out like stars on a black sky on any sensor.

It is however quite succesful in the role of transportation as it's fast enough to escape most threats an can carry a small number of soldiers in relative comfort.
Although soldiers riding this vessel are adviced not to engage their UV sensors as the previous owner used this ship to pick up sexy space babes.

The Fast shuttle has a meager cargo bay, it is notable for carrying daisy cutters making this shuttle into a threat to fortifications.

The ship was created using only pieces from the Ghost Star Wars set, aside from the canopy, hence the lackluster functionality.

EVA combat systems.

A light Jetpack for use by exo-atmospheric commandos during boarding actions or sabotage of docks. It has two gyros for efficient reorientation of the occupant and plenty of lifesupport.

Heavy Jetpacks such as this is used in the tight confines of starship docks, it carries four rockets and enough DeltaV to go to the moon and back, it's the ferrari of spacesuit accessories.

Getting out can be tricky, god help you if you get stuck or have an engine pod blown off, the jetpack cannot be exited without exposing oneself to the vacuum of space.

Boar MRAP.

The Boar is another workhorse and has seen extensive use during the post event cleanup of rebellions and insurgencies. It can carry four troops plus a driver and has an autocannon, two missiles, a small smoke grenade launcher and functioning suspension.

It is quite tall, this is both good and bad. It's not stealthy but highly resistant against mines.

The suspension is really simple but very effective. Very fun to drive around.

What with that satchel anyway? And why did he get the recoiless auto-rifle?
The other soldiers have to make do with their beam guns, though those are no pushovers and are capable of cutting pencil sized holes through buildings. They have a tendency to detonate internal organs too.

Here's a guy with a heavy beam gun. He loves his gun. I do too.

Protector Minimech.

Here's a protector minimech, it is heavily armoured, armed and quite agile for its size.

The arms are that far forward to facilitate finer manipulation of objects, when holding guns the arms fold back and thus prevent the Protector from tipping over.

Fits a fig too. He's quite comfy in there, the neural interface has a tingly feeling to it not unlike the feeling of love.
He stays an awful lot in that machine..

This fighter is the latest and greatest, it incorporates the same Drive-Particle generators of the shuttle but this aerospace craft is far more agile.

It carries an ompressive loadout, four multi purpose missiles, a targeting ball underneath for marking targets, two machine guns and massive lightning gun operated by the sensor operator.

I'm sorry for the blurry pictures, I need better lighting, but most of my lego is spread out in boxes and now I've got a lot of rebuilding to do. I'll be sure to post more of my stuff in this thread once they get built so stick around!
The backstory is just an excuse to build my imaginary spaceships in my own universe, and post them here but it was fun to write in any case.
Also, I'm a mod in bricks now apparently. I assume it's an appreciative gesture as I was made one after my long hiatus began, if so, thank you however made me mod, that was very kind of you.

Nice, to see, that you have returned from the dead! All that new stuff os pretty great, especially the spacecrafts and the Protector are my favorites.

Worth the wait, the shaping on everything really helps the builds, and the shuttle is particularly spiffy.

Very unique designs. If I had to be critical, I'd only say to maybe streamline the jetpack design. Seems like they'd be heavy. But then again, :sparta: so carry on.

Yay, Fredde's back! And you've clearly improved in your absence, not that you were bad before. These vehicles are amazing, especially the spacecraft. The armed EVA packs are a clever idea, too.

Thank you everyone! I'm glad you all like the creations.
The Eva packs are intended for use in space so there's no need for streamlining, but it'd be neat with an atmospheric version, like a hanglider with jet engines. What could possibly go wrong?
