Tairin Federation
Rejoice, for now that I've made another Bricklink order, I can now post the first of my two other factions!
The Tairin Federation!
Lead by the Matriarchal Elite, the Tairin Federation takes great lengths to ensure the safety of their Commanders.
Here we see the CLS-89A Eradicator Escape Fighter, used to spirit Field Commanders away from lost causes.
It is lightly armed with two XS-3 Yellow Transparent Missiles...
...And one Orange Transparent Neklear Doomday Device to ensure whatever forced the Commander to take their leave from Battle won't follow them.
The Commander's companion Gynoid and CLS-89M Aggression Platform.
Having form the purest of bonds with the Commander, this Gynoid is her perfect assistant, completely in sync with her Mistress!
The CLS-89M Aggression Platform is armed with two chin-mounted Pulse Rifles that can be detached to use as hand-held holdout weapon in the event of emergency...
...Five XS-2 Yellow Transparent Missiles and a Size 2 Anti-personnel Mini-gun on the one arm...
...As well as a Size 4 Anti-material Chaingun and detachable Bastard Megalosonic Cannon on the other.
Such a perfect combination of woman and machine allows the duo to perform incredible complex maneuvers, such as mid-combat Symmetrical Docking!
Here we see a Tairin Mecha Pilot in front of her suit, wielding the Jade Naginata that represents her office and it's duty to defend the Federation.
The bulk of the Tairin Federations Mecha fighting forces are made up of Electo-Marauders, an old Ninja-Tech model the Federation mass produced.
As it is a very large Melee Weapon tipped with a Green Transparent blade, the Jade Naginata can also be wielded by the Marauder.
And here is the Marauder's Ranged Weapon Arm, the 3" twin-barreled Electo-launcher with two XS-1 Yellow Transparent Grenades...
...That can be replaced with focusing muzzles to turn the Launcher into a twin-barreled 3" Cannon.
The Pilot can also choose to conserve Grenades by having only one muzzle affixed, allowing them the choice to shoot or blast a target as they wish.
Of course the most important piece of equipment on the Marauder is it's Wing Pack that allows it limited flight capability.
Onward, Reliably Expendable Dummy-Special Holistic Invasion RouT!
Onward RED-SHIRTS, to VICTORY!!!
The epitome of cannon fodder, the RED-SHIRTs are vat grown clones equipped with Pulse Pistols, Combat Knifes, and a vague inclination to wreak everything in the general direction their female overladies point them in.
Each Squad is given an Arc-IC, a common mass production utility crawler noted for its dependability and overall usefulness, for battlefield mobility, communication, and (de)construction.
The Mobile Infantry: ON THE BOUNCE!!!
The best any natural born son of the Federation can aspire to be, the Mobile Infantry are the Elite Troops of the Tairin Federation!
Making excellent use of the Flash Speeder, a lightly militarized hovercraft of pre-Space Wars design, the MI quickly speed into the thick of battle to lay down some serious hurt with their Pulse Rifles, a turreted 3" Auto Cannon, three Orange Transparent XS-3 Proton Torpedoes, and a storage compartment full of four XS-1 Orange Transparent Hand Grenades.
Driver Jack Fireblade.
Gunner Solomon Blaze.
Explosive Specialist Chuck Stonebreaker.
Melee Specialist Billy Starbeam.
And here we see the Tairin Federation's militarization of another Arc made vehicle, the Arc-SC Helicopter.
Currently, it is only armed with three 2" Cannons, but plans are in the works for further armament and refinement of this powerful lifting aircraft.
Like the Arc-ICs, the wench of the Arc-SC is normally used for Recovery and Maintenance of the Tairin Federations various Mecha, but it also serves a combat purpose...
Namely being able to hot-drop vehicles into combat zones!

Re: Tairin Federation
Thanks for the pictorial set review, I think you really have a knack for that kind of thing. Did you think it was a good value for the retail price? How playable is the set if I wanted to get it for a young relative? Do you think you could take some reference pics to highlight the articulation in the set? Thanks.

Colette I should smack you...Colette wrote:Thanks for the pictorial set review, I think you really have a knack for that kind of thing.

Not really, we got it on sale at a Toys-R-Us, and a big problem with the whole Galaxy Squad line was it was almost entirely larger sets.
Fairly playable, considering it came with two brick-built bugs and the Mech has plenty of play features.Colette wrote:How playable is the set if I wanted to get it for a young relative?
Already did basically, the Eradicator is built more to be a solid base for it's play features than a possible figure.Colette wrote:Do you think you could take some reference pics to highlight the articulation in the set?
Well I WAS going to do something like that, but it all sort of fell apart when it came to [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]Nervyr wrote:you should literally just embrace the whole set review thing. it could be like, your thing. talk about why the part composition and stuff is good. and do it with a Brikwarsy flare

Re: Tairin Federation
I think "Stockists vs. MOCkers" might have promise as a readymade brikwars-kanon battle scenario.
There's nothing really wrong with using stock builds for brikwars and I'l happily read forum battles and battle reports with stock builds (although tbh it's still more interesting if there's a bit of depth, like the Rayhawk's rainbow-wars). But you have an armoury thread here where we're just looking at stuff you bought rather than something unique, really this post belongs in the Loot topic in the bricks forum.

There is no excuse for this not being a MOC faction.

Re: Tairin Federation
That's because my final Bricklink Order hasn't come in yet, so the R.E.D.S.H.I.R.T.s don't have their new heads yet.ikensall wrote:But you have an armoury thread here where we're just looking at stuff you bought rather than something unique, really this post belongs in the Loot topic in the bricks forum.
If you haven't noticed though, I have at least gotten new Figs to pilot the stock Mechs, so as to make them complaint with my already existing Tairin Federation lore.
While more customization would be nice, really I was just trying to fill out the Tairins into a respectable force so that they could provide a suitable balance to the Pseudo-Arachnids, who due to their mutant nature have far easier MOC potential.
The key tenets of the Tairins' was that they:
A) Had Mechs
B) Had two types of Infantry, one mass fodder equipped with pistols and knifes, the other more armed and armored Mobile Infantry
Since similar MOCs to the Athena cost $80+ on Bricklink, and I already had this big, bug-gore spattered Mech with a sweet ass Chain-gun just sitting around, I figured I might as well make it the centerpiece for my Tairin forces.
...The other reason for using so much Stock was to piss off Vami, of course!Vami IV wrote:There is no excuse for this not being a MOC faction.

His stuff, his rules, deal with it. Try to keep it civil, I've seen some pretty hilarious slapfights over at the other thread but this argument is getting old hat.Vami IV wrote:There is no excuse for this not being a MOC faction.
Re: Tairin Federation
Sorry, but I don't fully understand. Is this page for posting MoCs or just posting ny kind of force you happen to have?
I couldn't come up with anything smart, original or funny, so <=THIS=> is what you get.
ENJOY IT!!!

Re: Tairin Federation
NO THE ANTI-CHRIST HAS RETUNED.
but really, all set armies? here is some motivation to get you to make some MOCS:
using sets means you are lazy
which puts you on the borderline of being on the same level as ME are you sure you want that?

Hey I'm trying to build two new Brikwars armies here, so the one that should be uniform gets multiples of the same set.Brikguy0410 wrote:NO THE ANTI-CHRIST HAS RETUNED.
