[RK19] Fleet Forum Battle 3 - Escape from Ninja_verse!
Previously
Sir Gawayn: Looks like we've escaped the Empire safely. How is the President doing, Captain?
Captain Atto: He's stable, but without a professional medic on board Councilar One, there's not much I can do for him. We need to get to the capital's hospital as soon as possible.
Sir Gawayn: As for you, Secretary Snape? What have you learned from the book?
Secretary Snape: The Visual Dictionary is exactly what we thought. It's tactical and strategic data about everything in the Nehellenium Galaxy. If Warhead and the Emperor get hold of this, they would surely be able to finish the Immortal War.
Sir Gawayn: Well, fear not. Soon we'll be back in friendly space and with the Visual Dictionary in RC hands, we can set about destroying the cursed thing.
KA-KRASH!
Sir Gawayn: What was that?!
Captain Kodai: Attention, Councilar One! This is the Imperial Destroyer Intrepid. We are holding you in an Interdictor Beam and there is no escape. You have taken hostage a member of the Imperial cabinet. Return him at once! If you do not, we will be forced to disable your vessel and take him by force.
Captain Atto: An Interdictor Beam! Damn those Imperials. We'll need to disable it from within if we are to escape. You two stay here. My squad can handle this.
Captain Atto: Lock and load for EVA, men. You know what to do!
Squad: SIR YES SIR!
Sir Gawayn: They want you alive, Snape. That's good - it means they don't realize you have the Visual Dictionary yet. We can still make it!

Re: Fleet Forum Battle 3 - Escape from Ninja_verse!
The Scenario
Councilar One is trapped in an Interdictor Beam, limiting its movement to 1d6 per turn. Its goal is to make it to the escape vector (blue arrow) in one piece. The Imperials need to destroy all the red support vehicles and cripple Councilar One without destroying it.
The Interdictor Beam Generator can't be harmed by spaceship weapons. A team of 6 Counciliar Guardsmen are deploying to take it down from within.
Kill the Marines guarding the Generator and then spend one turn to set charges and blow the thing up.
There are two major events to be revealed, one at round four, one at round six.
Players:
Falk - Blue
Me - Red

Re: Fleet Forum Battle 3 - Escape from Ninja_verse!
Round One
The Counciliar ships break toward the escape vector while the EVA drones carry the guardsmen toward the Intrepid.
One of the torpedo boats fires a rocket at the Intrepid.
It takes out two dorsal guns.
Blue responds, firing on the closest EVA drone.
Fighters also move up to engage.
The Imperial Marine Gunner rolls a crazy roll.
They destroy one drone and its guardsmen.
This was the bail roll. More like fail roll.
The Marines also damage another drone.
The Intrepid launches a torpedo wide.
Round Two
The torpedo boats continue to press toward the objective but fail to damage anything in their way.
The guardsmen unload onto the Intrepid but fail to kill anyone.
Overwatch
The Marines kill Captain Atto.
The Intrepid fires on the torpedo boat.
Another guardsman dies.
Oh geez, and a third one dies.
A torpedo hits that torpedo boat (ironic).
These fighters do some damage to the other torpedo boat.
Round Three
The rear torpedo boat returns fire on the Intrepid.
The lead torpedo boat fires on the Chickadee Interceptor, dealing a couple points of damage.
The last guardsman bravely fights on. "For the President!"
Overwatch + feet showing the drones retreating.
A Marine does a quick no-look execution of the last guardsman.
The fighters keep shooting the torpedo boat. Worth noting here that in my first Fleet Forum Battle, the torpedo boat was destroyed in one turn. I upped the armor class but it made it too stronk. Also I'm forgetting to shoot some of the guns on the Imperial destroyer.
Round 4
The torpedo boat sneaks under the fighters and deals 3 pips of damage to the Valkyrie.
The second boat follows up, damaging the interceptor.
Drones take up redshirt positions.
Overwatch
Imperial ships combine fire against one torpedo boat and get it down to 25% health.

Re: Fleet Forum Battle 3 - Escape from Ninja_verse!
The Golden Emperor and Warhead land on an isolated base in the Empire's outer fringes.
Emperor Auric: I brought our first new allies to this base to avoid detection. Though, I suppose you should recognize them.
Warhead: Oh sweet, Brittanians!
Captain Colliedog: My Lords, the 54th Expeditionary is at your service and ready to fight.
Emperor Auric: Excellent. Warhead, do you have The Book?
Warhead: Yes! My Visual Dictionary! The Visual Dictionary I made specifically for conquering Nehellenium! That Book! Where did I put that? Not here?
Warhead: I lost it?! NOOOOOOO!
Emperor Auric: Of course! How could I be so blind? Secretary Snape wasn't abducted; he was recovered! They have the Visual Dictionary on Councilar One! Alert the Intrepid at once, they must destroy it and recover that book at all costs!
Captain Colliedog: At once, my lord.
Warhead: *cries*
Captain Kodai: You heard the orders! The kid gloves are off. Open fire!

Re: Fleet Forum Battle 3 - Escape from Ninja_verse!
Round Five
Imperial ships move up to attack their new target.
This is what happens when I remember the ventral guns.
The torpedo boat heroically redshirts all that damage.
The fighters look menacingly at Councilar One
The remaining torpedo boat comes alongside the Intrepid and fires stuff at it.
A successful missile hit finishes off the other dorsal guns!
Councilar One desperately strains toward the escape vector, 1d6" at a time.
Round Six
Kommander Ken takes over from Falk.
The fighters decide to shoot guns at Councilar One
The damage is mostly absorbed by drones.
The Intrepid manages to get some chip damage on the torpedo boat, too.
Councilar One crests over the Intrepid toward the objective as the torpedo boat comes in to cover its escape.
The torpedo boat fails to damage anything.
A vessel warps into the battlefield!
The corvette flies in, guns blazing, dealing damage to the Intrepid left and right.
"Councilar One, this is Captain Thaddeus of the Sky Shark 2BD. We are here to cover your escape!"
Counciliar Rocketeers unload from the bow.
"Take down that Interdictor Beam Generator!"
Round Seven
The Intrepid swings round to collide with the Sky Shark.
This also disrupts a Rocketeer.
The fighters continue their barrage as Councilar One crawls past.
The torpedo boat redshirts some of that damage.
Overwatch:
Torpedo boat fires everything at the Valkyrie.
A successful kill! This is what it's made for.
The corvette continues to fire on the Intrepid.
Rocketeers board the ship.
Another Overwatch (I'm not actually sure these are at the right moments in battle because flickr messes with photo order sometimes):
Round Eight
Scratch takes over from Kommander Ken.
I explain:
He has two fighters
and three marines
He proceeds to blow a hole in the front of Councilar One. Plot armour protects the crew from getting vented into space.
The Intrepid also contributes a little bit.
A marine attempts to stop the Rocketeers but fails the damage roll.
Councilar One desperately pours on power and makes it 11 inches in one turn.
One Rocketeer stumbles off the ledge but the other kills the exposed marine.
The falling Rocketeer gets killed by a marine's response action.
Overwatch:
The interceptors press the attack.
Intrepid fires everything she's got.
The damage easily overwhelms Councilar One's remaining size points, destroying it and the last torpedo boat.
The Sky Shark is forced to retreat.
Imperial Victory!
Congrats to Falk, Ken, and Scratch!

Epilogue
Marines search the wreckage for the Visual Dictionary. At first, all they find is a preponderance of greenery.
They look closer.
Aha! One body lies buried under all that. Secretary Snape, still holding the Visual Dictionary. Warhead will be pleased.
Meanwhile, the remaining dignitaries of the Rubrum Crucesignatus impatiently wait on the capital planet of the Council of 500. They are Mlot Kowalski of Poland, Louise Fort Drake of Space Austria, and Paula Von Oberstein of M-Throne. They will not like what comes next.

Fun : Lots of SHIP carnage and a little minifig action too. I really liked the bit where Councilar One all but jumped over the Imperial position. 17.
Violence: Plenty of explosions, some blood, and the destruction was excellent. 8.
Photography: Your photos are clear and each shot packs a lot of action. No complaints here! 10.
Writing: It's nothing that groundbreaking, but the story is clear and the dialogue is funny. What really does it for me is the interactions with the Warhead shard during some points of the battle. 7.
EDIT: Story: 8
Overall it's great to see more space battles, especially with such badass builds.

Fun I'm beginning to think I just really enjoy brikwars and believe that all battles are fun, this is no deviation from the norm in that regard. 19

Photography Heckin Mint my guy 10
Writing Excellent exposition, I was very wrapped up in the storyline and the suspense of this battle. 10

Re: [RK19] Fleet Forum Battle 3 - Escape from Ninja_verse!
Fun: Irl space battles are a rarity these days so this was a cool change of pace. - 18
Violence: Not as much obvious destruction and dismemberment due to the style of battle but still lots of good explosions. - 8
Photography: Pics are all well lit and clear, a lot of similar shots but well done overall. - 8
Writing: Play-by play is good, I like how you took a cutscene break there in the middle, that’s not something you see very often. - 9
Story: The story for the battle is engaging, I’m interested to see where you go with it from here and how it integrates into Ragnablok. I’ll need to check out the prior reading material here soon. - 8
