DEV-1298 Devastator Space Flagship

Post by birdman » Mon Jan 19, 2009 11:49 am

This bad boy is the crown jewel of my space fleet. made for a microwars game back in '02, it can carry my entire space fleet (yea, it's a carrier), when i have CP left over. Stats available on request. It's microscale, putting the size down a bit. Note that unlike the other vehicles posted on this forum, the devastator is not unarmed, as seen in the pics.
angled view. lovely ship, isn't she?
Image
The ship-scuttling superlaser mounted on the prow can fire once every ten turns and does 20D20 damage. very high UR, but who cares? a bit expensive too, i might add.
Image
The bridge was indeed modelled after that of a star destroyer. it looks very imposing when the devastator is bearing down on you. The turrets seen here are a mixture of rocket turrets (a stud) laser turrets (a lever) and railguns (a cylinder)
Image
The mess of black balls in this picture is the shield generator (see the 2001 rules) that makes it very difficult to damage the devastator.
Image
This is the communications post that allows the relaying of commands throughout the fleet (a necessity in microwars).
Image
This is one of the two docking tubes that the devastator possesses. if it can tractor you in you're facing over 2000 AssaultMarines in AssaultArmor and AssaultRifles storming your hatch.
Image
This is one of the four helion nuclear missile launchers on the ship.

A final top-down view.

Very nice job, I'd hate to come across on of those things in combat!

BTW, it looks a lot like a Trade Federation Landing Craft. Was that intentional?

As if we care. More explosives!

No, it wasn't intentional. I knew what the landing craft looked like, but i figured that the resemblance was superficial at best. and besides, the devastator is much bigger.

I stared in awe at that ship.

Whoa! Creepy colors!
