Terrarium frigate WOLDE

Post by Strana » Sun Aug 23, 2009 8:39 pm

the WOLDE is a terrarium frigate, among its duties lie fresh biological mass to ships, including food stuff's, also the captain of theis particular ship has also included basic facilities, for a bordello.

contruction notes: this was an easy build for the main body, but some elements were difficult in particular the angled windows were a problem as the pieces i was forced to use were not necessarily ideal for what i was doing, none the less the effect of the windows is the main feature of the ship as the engine and body shape is rather boring, total cost for the ship is $60 with plenty left over, which isn't to bad for a vessel in the frigate range, though i didnt have enough plates to add further decks.

Reminds me of the old film Silent Running, very cool.

Awesome idea! You really do have a lot of parts.
What would be really cool is if you put a different type of environment (jungle, desert, etc.) in each compartment, and then held a boarding party battle inside the ship. Minifig-scale space forum battle, anyone?

A terrarium frigate? Well, I suppose it's handy if the traditional greenhouse doesn't cut it for you, or if you like taking nature along on your intergalactic voyages, but it seems a little... tame for a spaceship. I suppose that all those plants could provide an oxygen source, but isn't there a smaller, more mechanical way of recycling air?
Were it that simple...

I think this ship looks good, but it definitely needs more guns!
