Re: BW 2010 feedback
Anybody else not seeing the special ability descriptions in the army section? Someone said that The Mechanik, The Engineer, The Cybernetik, The Infiltrator, The Saboteur, The Assassin, The Sniper, The Commando, The Leader, The Commander, and The Great Leader are just not in the book yet. Is that true?

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Hi everybody, quick update today - after yesterday's shenanigans I finished up the rough outline for Shenanigans in chapter 11. I've unified it into the usual Stealth detection system for now.
Random new stuff elsewhere. Chapter D has some new graphics. Chapter 11 tables have been cleaned up a bunch. More clarifications to Weapon Mods. A bunch of sidebar links from intro sections in book 1 to their full-system versions in book 2 (see the new sidebars for QuikWars in particular). SuperNatural d8s can now be used to grant Specialties.
All Support Units have been added to chapter 11. Most of them use a variation of the Construction Action now, including the Medik, which is a pretty big change for his gameplay. It's now possible for a Medik to have Ker-Triage! interrupted so that he still performs all the amputations but doesn't revive the patient.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Stealth his hard to do tabletop wise without being gimmicky or extremely easy to abuse look at Flames of War "Stealth" system if you need an example on not how to do it

The last time I looked at Flames of War it didn't have stealth yet. What's their stealth system like?

Re: BW 2010 feedback
In layman's terms Flames of war had a spotting system where a unit would hide and get bonus for attacking. It work as a unit has a line of sight and if you can see the majority of the enemy then you can see the whole of enemy. The line of sight was tricky as it always devolved into a bitter argument with the person with the tank in stealth winning most the time. This could be and would be easily abused as a stug/hetzer could hide behind a house and wait for the allied forces to come within range and knock out the lead tank and calmly proceed to knock out the rest of the tanks with swarms of infantry.stubby wrote:Brikwars covers all ages of warfare. Special ops go back thousands of years, it's not just modern high tech stuff.

In short on a tabletop if you can see something then you know where it is and that doesn't mesh well with stealth as you are a supreme being who can overview the entire battlefield battlefield.
I have bad memories of people bitching and moaning about how i hid my tanks behind houses and trees and hedgerows and the odd hill or the odd hill or two.

Draft rules for the Thief are now uploaded to 11.2, with rules for Parkour!, Breaking and Entering, and Theft.

I think it would be cool if there was a line/volley fire specialty that improved combined attacks from range. It would mean having to maneuver overlapping fields of fire

Re: BW 2010 feedback
That would actually be really neat and maybe you could even incorporate skirmishes from other games
Re: BW 2010 feedback
After further review, I'll probably be splitting off Parkour! into a separate +1CP Specialty from Burglary, so that other custom units can Parkour! even if they aren't theft-focused.
Re: BW 2010 feedback
For line/volley fire I would have them create overlapping Exposure Damage fields from 8.5.AnnoyedZebra wrote:I think it would be cool if there was a line/volley fire specialty that improved combined attacks from range. It would mean having to maneuver overlapping fields of fire

Re: BW 2010 feedback
You've been wanting to do a strafing run for a while now why not why not see how many billets the vehicle fire in that turn and break that down for its movement ex its move ten inches it fires ten round it's firing one round an inch and you treat it like the vehicle was there
