A mech for a weird RP idea I had a while ago. It looks kinda like a Shadow cult and a Vulture had a deformed baby. Actually, at this point in the RP's planning, I probably wouldn't use this.
It could also work for Picture Wars, but I'm not really in the mood for putting up with their shit.

The character sheet. I have a nice little complex plan for all this stuff.

Other crap for using in the character sheets.

More stuff.

Piloooots.

You can make one if you want, yours will probably be better than mine, lolOlothontor wrote:YES!
I love this idea, I totally want to see it carried out. It'd be like a 2D form of Mechaton, only slightly more complex.
P.S: You mind if I go ahead and make my own? I'll totally help you write up the rules for this, if you plan on taking it anywhere
Really there's not too much to the rules I have in mind, it's just the issue of translating them into English.
Let's see...
The lifelines for each part also show the color the part on the schematic is (i.e., if the torso is down to 3 points, you color the torso orange on the schematic). The same goes for the pilot, and that also establishes what his status is (i.e, if he has 3 HP his status would be Injured and the silhouette would be yellow). Pilots wouldn't start out with weapons (Since they're kind of piloting a huge battlemech), but if they have to eject they can pick up infantry weapons or flee. Obviously direct head shots or armor piercing shots to just instantly kill the pilot aren't allowed. And that's all I have right now.
EDIT: Also, the weapons icons don't show the weapon itself, but the weapon type. The yellow bullet is for ballistic weaponry, the red laser blast is for beam weaponry, and the green rocket is for missiles and such.

Alright. Based on the character sheet, this will be fairly intensive. That doesn't mean it can't be SIMPLE, but it'll be fairly easy to get lost in the book-keeping.
Dieu merci pour le character sheet.
So, how were you thinking of doing this? Should there be dice involved, or would you prefer a more forum-accessible form of play?

I'm thinking more like forum accessible, and the usage of common sense. The players count their own damage, so there doesn't have to be a mile long chart for every variety of laser and missile.Olothontor wrote:Alright. The other option is to have a DM that rolls dice for everything, and that would require a lot of long waits and some form of organized chart for all the weapons.

Hmm. What all do you want to be customizable? Weapons and armor, just weapons, etc?
And I think something that pretty much just runs on the honor code would suffice. Although it could be run with a DM anyway.
And each weapon type should have a certain damage rating. Just a simple thing, like "anywhere from x to y". It'd be up to the player to decide what number within that range is the amount of damage they take, depending on the severity of the hit they take, or something like that.
