The Battle at the Certhos Pass - Turn 5

Post by Joshua » Thu Dec 16, 2021 11:49 pm

The final turn!

Orcs/Uruk-hai - Archduke

Image
The troll smashes his way through the outpost, but doesn't quite make it to Von Brag.

Image
The Orc Hero lets out a blood-curdling battle yell that sends shivers down the spines of the Black Knights.

Image
Despite the bonus, both he and his troops manage to inflict exactly zero casualties.

Image
The archer finds another 'squishy' target.

Image
And down goes the second grenadier!

Image
The Uruk-hai advance through the flames, which doesn't hurt them. The crossbowman fires a shot, but misses.

Undead - Brikskrieg

Image
The Death Knight struggles to his feet.

Image
He grabs his helmet and puts it back on.

Image
He then climbs to the top of the cave and starts shouting.

Death Knight: "Skeletons! Armies of Darkness! Arise, and fight once more!"

Image
The skeletons remain lifeless.

Image
But then, they start to stir!

Image
And come back to unlife!

Image
Every skeleton that was killed now rises up!

Image
Von Bragallot: "Shit."

Image

Skeleton: "Raugh!"

Von Brag: "Ah!"

Image
Three skeletons gang up on Sir Darius, who loses a hitpoint from the combined assault.

Image
Thankfully he slays one in a counterattack.

Image
An armored skellie attacks Wilhelm, and brings him down to his final HP!

Image
These three skeletons move up.

Image
As do these ones.

Image
And the rest just advance through the flames.

Image
Which ends up burning one skeleton to death.

Image
At this point I remembered that heroes get two actions, so the Knight finds a spear and tries to stab Sir Darius, but can't pierce his armor.

Von Brag's Black Knights - Scribonius

Image
Von Brag quickly dispatches his two assailants.

Image
He then runs down and grabs the fallen grenade.

Image
And chucks it!

Image
Ba-Boooooommm!!!

Image
The two Elite skeletons, a crossbow skeleton, a normal skeleton and an orc are all caught in the blast.

Image

Von Bragallot: "Fall back, or ve vill be overrun!"

Image
The halberdier and the knight both attack the Orc Hero, and wound him! -1HP

Sir Darius' Black Knights - Brikboyz

Image
Sir Darius impales another skeleton.

Image
The archer and crossbowman turn and fire at the enemies attacking the shield wall.

Image
And manage to down another orc!

Image
They then start running towards safety.

Image
The rest of the Black Knights follow suit, disengaging and retreating further up the pass.

At this point, there really is no reason to have a turn six. Both sides have completed their objectives and all the turn would consist of is a bunch of movement. So, with that in mind:

Endgame:

Image
Von Brag remounts his horse while his troops retreat from the pass.

Image

Sir Darius: "Alright, that's everyone! Let's move!"

The feat was originally just to have the Knight resurect the fallen grenadier as a skeleton, but rolling a critical success kinda helps out a bit.
