Huge epic WW2 battle reenactement FB

Post by pesgores » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:40 pm

I've been thinking: why not making a huge WW2 reenactement Forum Battle?

I thought of something like D-Day, when the Allies disembarked on Omaha Beach (June 6th 1944). It would be great to see someone do this.

The BIG questions are:

-Does someone have the abilities to build that scenario?
-Does someone have big armies of German and American WW2 soldiers?

Minor, but very helpful:

-Does someone have enough weapons for them all and/or historically accurate weapons?

And, of course, I thought of a prize: the host would get automatically one reserved spot in any 3 Forum Battles he wishes, if he applies up to 3 days after the signup starts, choosing whichever faction he wants.

Who's in/can do this?

ALSO: The underlined paragraph is a good idea for giving prizes to some contest winners.

I certainly thought about this, you could do it USSR vs. Nazis with some Iniana Jones sets...
I unfortuanately lack the parts, sorry. :(

I'm working on a German based army, but it's not exactly WWII.

i don't think dday is a good idea (it's been overdone.)

i think a really cool idea would be battle of the bulge. you have nazis attacking through a forest. (p.s. man-made forest trees are in neat rows.)

I was actually thinking of a WWI Brikwar for my next FB, but I decided against it because of the trenches being hard to do, but it wasn't based on any actual battle. Still, perhaps a WWI one would be easier to do, seeing as it would require less on the vehicular side, and the terrain would be easier as well. Still, I'd love to try one out.

You could always do a 'hypothetical World War II' battle-- for example, what if Germany won in Europe and raided the United States in 1946? It'd be like D-Day, except completely reversed... oh, and probably in some major port like Boston or New York, or wherever Piltogg had the guts to ship an army to.
Were it that simple...

I was going to do an Iraq forum battle, but that wouldn't be an all-out war so much as a slightly more militarized version of MasterEcabob's Operation Weasel.

That would actually be pretty cool. The weakness of Operation Weasel was that there wasn't really any incentive to try and save any of the students or figure out who the terrorists were.

But in an Iraq War situation you could arm the civilians to combat the terrorists, which would make everything a whole lot more interesting, especially if the civilians outnumbered the Americans.

Your ideas seem pretty good. So long as they're reenactements of real-life wars and battles, you may win that prize.

Brickarms could be helpful to people who want to make a WW2 battle because they sell military helmets and old weapons like Thompson and MP40.

They just need to sell K98s.
