Assyrian Vanquisher Super Tank

Post by Natalya » Sun Dec 26, 2010 11:35 pm

The Assyrians started building tanks with the Artemis...

Image

It was a light tank, but still deadly in the heat of battle.

But they needed something more, so the ASE developed the Mars as a MßT.

Image

It fought well and destroyed many foes...

Image

But it wasn't an invincible machine of death.

So, due to their collective shortcomings, ASE engineers decided the only logical solution was to create one massive super tank by combining the Artemis and the Mars. I present to you the Vanquisher Super Tank, the product of three and a half long days of building and designing.

Image

At 14 bricks high, this is more of a moving bunker than a tank. It almost wants to break the whole tank category.

The Vanquisher has enough guns to kill your army in one turn. The side sponsons are both armed with a traditional mini gun and a large Vulcan Cannon for rapid fire against armoured targets. In PMoGR2010R2 the Assyrian Dreadnought which shredded a number of 45th Union tanks is armed with one of these big Vulcan Cannons.

Image

The secondary gun is a Phase-Plasma Pulse Cannon. It will melt the thickest bunker walls in no time.

Image

And then on top, the main cannon is an Independently Targeting Particle Beam Phalanx. You could fry half a city with this thing. The weapons on this tank give new meaning to the phrase Technological Arrogance. Oh, and yea, the turret's got a gunner with an Auto Cannon and another minigun.

Image

A major flaw with the Artemis and Mars was that they didn't have easy access. You had to get in through the roof hatch. Not on the Vanquisher... Let's take a look inside.

Image

Seven ASE soldiers are riding in the back. The Vanquisher can drop them off after taking a leisurely stroll through the front of the enemy lines.

Image

The inside-crew sits up front. The captain (Red Epaulettes) gives orders and shit while the guy on the right drives and the guy on the left operates the main gun. The Captain helps out with firing the guns on the side sponsons and stuff when needed. These three plus the two gunners on the outside form the 5-member crew of the Vanquisher. Oh, and the mini-gun hooked on the wall there is just in case somebody manages to make it behind the tank and tries to break in. I'm not sure how that could possibly happen, but better safe than sorry right? The gunner just has to pick it up and blast away.

Image

And to end, here's the Vanquisher on patrol. Notice how it takes up the entire road?

 Stunning! That is a most terrorsome and lovely Super Tank Natalya. I love the shape of the turret and all the weapons which have kept true to their Assyrian Weapon Roots in looks.

It seems like we are on the same page of the arms race manual. Yes, I'm gathering parts and waiting on orders of grey briks from Briklink for a Super Heavy Assault Tank of my own. It will be based on 180x segment links of the largest track treads http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?col ... emID=66799 hopefully when complete it will take up the width of baseplates and not roads.

Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

Your funds must be greater than mine. If I had money for this sort of thing I'd have just bought parts for this whole new tank and not trashed my older ones to build it lol. But still as of right now a tank this size is unprecedented on this forum and will still give everyone else a handful.

I haven't built the damn thing yet, lol! I'm still on the planning and gathering stages so it'll kick my arse too. Don't forget I have a child, wife and mortgage to support so money is actually tight. Most of what I do buy is for Mini-Figs (and about 80% of those are for you lot) and not briks. Although I do buy some modern bits from time to time (from Poland/Hungary or Slovenia as they do great deals) otherwise I'd be stuck. I've been trying to get parts for months for this, a little at a time.

Ahh, okay. Personally I have enough in the way of armies, but I am lacking in the battlefield department. I just put some bids for road baseplates on ebay though so we'll see how that goes. If I get some, I'll start making a city. Then it will be awesome. :)
