An asteroid mining facility is like a space station built on a very large asteroid that holds vast amounts of resources, mainly minerals and [[metals]]. The facility is constructed directly into the asteroid, granting easy access to the miners and workers to do their job. These space places are also usually boarded by [[pirates]] if not defended or very capable of being good hive clusters for parasitic [[aliens]] due its limited and claustrophobic anatomy that leaves the poor miners exposed to them with no place to run. In any case, its also a good place to hide. For safety measures, asteroid mining facilities should have a good amount of blast doors to stop the whole facility depresurizing, saving those behind the door but not saving those outside the door leaving them to fly in to the vaccum of outer [[space]].
