"Resourceful by nature."
The Archer-Daniels-Middle Company, or ADM, is an agricultural megacorp in the United Systems. It specializes in processing cereal grains and vegetable oil as well as providing agricultural transport and storage services. It also trades in agricultural commodities futures, investing recently in ethanol and biodiesel technologies to replace space oil.
ADM is a major competitor with Limagraine and the Monsatan Company. Monsatan in particular has been very aggressive in its attempts to take over or put ADM out of business. ADM in turn has increased its foreign expansion efforts, taking over local agricultural and food companies in smaller countries throughout the BrikVerse. The government of Silvaria recently blocked one such attempted purchase on fair competition grounds.
The ADM Company has been accused of several illicit practices, including price fixing and bribing foreign governments. A spokesperson could not be reached for comment.
