A SHIP is:
- 100 studs in length
- Minifig scale
- Designed for space travel
It is a badge of honor for any human to be able to field a SHIP in battle.
SHIP Classes
The proper categorization of SHIPs is under constant debate. However, unlike Microspace, there are no international treaties to classify SHIPs. Classification is based loosely on human naval classes, using length in studs and general function as guidance. The most important rule is, of course, "Everyone is the Boss of Their Own Toys" and self-classifications are generally accepted by the international community.
Class | Size | Function |
---|---|---|
Corvette | 90-110 Studs | Fast, forward attack Starfighter combat "Hero" ships |
Frigate | 90-110 Studs | Escort/support Capital ship combat |
Destroyer | 120-150 Studs | Capital ship and starfighter combat |
Cruiser | 150-200 Studs | SHIP to SHIP engagement |
Battleship | 200+ Studs | Fleet flagship |
The terms "Heavy" and "Light" are often added when a SHIP is between classes. Heavy typically indicates that a ship is used in a role above its size class. Light typically indicates that a ship is slightly smaller than its functional class. Thus, a Heavy Corvette is roughly equivalent to a Light Destroyer. Additional terms may be added to indicate more specific functions, such as "Carrier" for vessels that carry two or more starfighters.
