This Article is about the planet Elkoss in the [[X-8]] Universe, for the Elkoss of the Prime Universe, see [[Elkoss]]

Elkoss is a planet in the western arm of the Galaxy, Plagued by overpopulation and a battered surface from nuclear war in some regions, It has a few wealthy, civilized regions, but it's otherwise a pretty awful place

The planet is roughly 60 percent water and ice.  with about 30 percent landmass, and 10 percent of uninhabitable permafrost regions

The [[Elkossian Empire]] imploded on itself in this universe, the status of the worlds it colonized is unknown, but it was presumed that most of them completely died off from being seperated from the capital. Without the power of several worlds to exert on disloyal colonies, the Capital itself fell into a state of anarchy and most of the predecessor states that combined to create the Empire, broke away back to their pre-unification borders, now the planet is home to about 100 different sovereign countries and states. Ironically, in the Prime Universe many of these states, or more accurately their cultures. Would spread out across the stars and grow into some of the Factions in that universe that populate the [[Gold Sector]], like [[Galacia]], [[Volhinya]] and Others. However in X-8, They never came to be,  and the planet is forever doomed to an endless cycle of competition for resources and prestige on the world stage.
