ZC Military, end of 2016

The Zaphorzian Confederacy or ZC in simpler terms, Is a breakaway region within the Gold Sector Centered around the Zaphor system. What began as a powerful and insidious corporation, fueled by seperatist dissenters from elsewhere in the GR, eventually gained control over a number of star systems becoming it's own empire. The Confederation of these Conglomerate controlled systems call themselves the Confederate States of Galacia, and by outsiders the Zaphor Confederacy

History

The Conglomerate started out as the Haliat-Armali corporation, which at the time was Galacia's largest energy and mining company. Unchecked and unsupervised corporate expansion in what would eventually become the Granite Prefecture of the sector, led to H-A claiming sole trading rights over multiple systems, the Government allowed this to continue as it saw little value in the systems it was operating in. A month later would see the "Oplot Rebellion". an alliance of Anarchists, Libertarians, Roughnecks, Miners, Laborers, Mercenaries an other disgruntled colonists rose up on the capital's moon, Oplot. While the rebellion lasted little more than 2 months before it was kicked off the moon, untold millions of Galacian resources and capital were siphoned and smuggled out of the system. Militarily the rebels were defeated, but more than half of the 20'000 rebels managed to escape the moon after the battle went south.

By this time, the Haliat-Armali had begun witholding taxes, and with the Government focused on military action, went undetected. By the time of the liberation of Oplot, the Corporation offered asylum, and employment for the thousands of rebels. Every one of them was hired as "Corporate Colonial Security". a fancy title for an army of mercenaries.

More and more dissenting minifigs fled to the south, at the time, the GR had elected a hardline, racist and authoritarian government, many felt their freedom was being trampled on, and sought life elsewhere. by mid G.R 2015, The GR's war with the communists in the west was coming to a close. Once again, many fled to the south. Whilst the hardliner communists remained in the Ruby prefecture. Haliat-Armali, now known as the Zaphor Conglomerate, now had stewardship of as many as 15% of the Gold sector's overall population. Planetary governers were assigned by the corporation, secret alliances were struck between the ZC and several other corporate and non-government entities around the galaxy to provide materials in exchange for mining and energy goods. Minifigs from all around began migrating into their colonies for the promise of lax regulations and total economic freedom. Mercenaries were joined by colonist volunteers, and the Confederacy now had a mostly standardized standing army.

While the Conglomerate would retain it's name, In late G.R 2016 the united territories under the control of the Conglomerate would call themselves the Confederate States of Galacia. And established their own civilian government, one that was heavily influenced and controlled by it's corporate overlords, however.

This was the final straw from the Elkoss government. This was taken as another act of rebellion, and while it cared little about the new borderland colonies, the Confederacy had also "stolen" several of it's prized colonies in the Amethyst sector which it was focusing development on at the time. Hostilities broke out immediately, and as if all at once, multiple other powers agreed to support the Confederacy as a means to curbing the dominance the Republic had over the sector. Thus the Maripol Pact was born.

Relations

  • At home in the Gold Sector, ZC is war with the Galacian Republic, and engages in the occasional border skirmish with MSU or other Communist expeditionary forces who trespass in the sector. It has also been involved in regular conflict with religious extremists such as the Triangular state of Outer Heaven, also in the Gold Sector
  • The ZC considers the GR to be it's primary opponent, but it shares the same negative opinion of the USSSR. Although they rarely engage each other, They also have very low opinions of Fascists such as Bavaria and "Racists" like Assyria

Alliances and Coalitions

  • The Conglomerate considers the USA To be it's "sponsor", while their president will not make a formal acknowledgment on the matter.
  • The Octan Corporation while by all accounts neutral, is a major partner with the Confederates. Especially in R2016 when the Corporation began assisting the ZC by accumulating and then selling large amounts of equipment, especially combat vehicles for their war effort.
  • Immortal War The ZC has no stance on the conflict and has no interest of ever becoming involved.
  • AN-TA War The ZC Had no official stance during the war, and wished to remain neutral as it had sympathies with both sides during the conflict. It nearly sided with the AN, But the conflict ended before this could be finalized. This act would push the GR closer towards the nations of the Third Alliance
  • Communo-Fascist Insurgency The ZC is largely uninvolved in this conflict, the ZC/GR war is more or less separate from the GR's battle with communist forces. In the end of 2016, the USSSR broke off support of the MSU, and the MSU sought an alliance with the Conglomerate
